Lexus Personalized Settings
Your vehicle includes a variety of electronic features that can be programmed to your preferences. Programming of these features is performed once at no charge, provided you obtain the service at the 30 day/1,000-mile scheduled maintenance service. Programming of your Lexus Personalized Settings requires special equipment and may be performed only by an authorized Lexus dealership.

Door Lock Systems/Trunk

Unlocking drivers door/all passenger doors
By pressing the remote key door unlock button, the following functions can be programmed: Pressing the unlock button one time will unlock all doors. Pressing the unlock button one time unlocks the driver door, and two times unlocks all doors. (Standard)
Flashing of signal lights
Using the remote key, the following operations can be programmed: Press the LOCK/UNLOCK button on the remote key and the lights will not flash. Press the LOCK button and the lights will flash once. Press the UNLOCK button and the lights will flash twice. (Standard)
Unlocking doors when placing vehicle into park
While the engine is running and the vehicle is placed into park, the vehicle can be programmed as follows: When placing the vehicle into park, all of the doors will remain LOCKED. When placing the vehicle into park, ALL the doors will automatically UNLOCK. (Standard)
Auto locking of doors at 13 mph
When the vehicle reaches 13 mph, the vehicle can be programmed as follows: The doors will not lock. (Standard) All the doors will automatically lock.
Locking of doors when shifting from park into another range
When shifting the vehicle from park to another range, the following features can be programmed: When shifting from park to another range, the doors will not lock. When shifting from park to another range, while the brake pedal is PRESSED, all the doors will lock. (Standard)

Opening the trunk

By pressing on the trunk release button, located on the remote key, the trunk will open. The release button can be programmed to function as follows: Press button one time to release the trunk. (No delay) Press button two times to release the trunk. Press and hold button for 0.8 seconds to release the trunk. (Standard) The button can be turned off so the trunk cannot be opened using the remote key.
Power trunk lid operation/non-operation
By pressing the trunk release button, located on the remote key, the trunk will unlock and the trunk lid will automatically raise. Invalid. Valid. (Standard)
* Note: If invalid is used power close is also inoperative.

Power Windows

Using the remote key to open all windows
By pressing the UNLOCK button on the remote key for 3 seconds, the vehicle can be programmed as follows: The windows will not roll down. All the windows will roll down. (Standard)

Moonroof

Using remote key to open moonroof
By pressing the UNLOCK button on the remote key for 3 seconds, the following options can be programmed: The moonroof will not open. The moonroof will open. (Standard)
* Note: Option #8 must be on.
Using the remote key to open/tilt moonroof
When option #8 and #9 are active, the moonroof can be programmed for the following: Slide. (Standard) Tilt.

Lighting Systems

Illumination of cabin light
After closing the door, the interior lights can be adjusted to stay on for the following: 15 seconds. (Standard) 7.5 seconds. 30 seconds.
Illumination of the interior light
When the ignition switch is turned from ACC to LOCK, the interior cabin light can be programmed for the following: Not illuminate. To illuminate. (Standard)
* Note: The interior cabin light must be placed in the door mode.
Delay for headlights to turn off
After turning off the ignition and all the doors are closed, if the headlights are ON or in the AUTO position, the lights can be programmed for the following: Turn off immediately, when the vehicle is turned off and the driver door is opened. Turn off in 30 seconds. (Standard) Turn off in 60 seconds. Turn off in 90 seconds.
Sensitivity of automatic headlights
While driving the vehicle and the headlight switch is placed in the AUTO mode, the front headlights can be programmed to turn on under darker or lighter ambient light conditions.

TOYOTA ANNOUNCES VOLUNTARY RECALL ON CERTAIN LEXUS LS 460 AND LS 600h L VEHICLES TO ADDRESS TEMPORARY STEERING WHEEL OFF-CENTER CONDITION TORRANCE, Calif., May 21, 2010 Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will conduct a voluntary safety recall on approximately 3,800 Lexus late 2009 and certain 2010 model year LS 460 and LS 600h L vehicles in the U.S. equipped with Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) to address a temporary steering wheel off-center condition that may develop under a specific driving maneuver. No other Toyota, Lexus, or Scion vehicles are involved in this recall. The VGRS system enables easier handling during low-speed driving and provides better stability during high-speed driving than conventional steering by changing the gear ratio. The VGRS system may exhibit a temporary steering wheel off-center condition after driving away quickly from a very tight turn where the steering was at full lock position. The steering wheel off-center position will automatically be corrected in approximately five seconds by the VGRS system as the vehicle is driven. The driver may notice the system auto correcting as the steering wheel slowly moves to the center position while driving straight during the VGRS correction. Due to the specific driving circumstances, this condition will not occur during normal driving such as changing lanes or turning at intersections. Lexus recently received one customer report in the U.S. regarding this condition; no accidents or injuries have been reported. Our entire company is taking major steps to become a more responsive and safety focused organization, said Steve St. Angelo, Toyota chief quality officer for North America. Were listening closely to our customers and taking action to address this steering issue in certain Lexus models quickly. As soon as the remedy parts are available, Lexus will begin sending notification letters by first class mail to owners of the involved vehicles. The letter will advise owners to bring their vehicle to a Lexus dealer to have the Steering Control computer replaced with a newly designed one at no charge. The computer replacement is expected to take less than one hour, depending on dealer workload.
