The Gasworks theatre is a flexible performance space with a flat floor and a raked, modular and movable seating system. The venue is particularly suited to productions where intimate contact between the audience and the performers is required. The theatre is wheelchair accessible and fully air-conditioned. The modular seating system can enable raked seating for between 66 and 198 patrons in various configurations. These include end stage, corner stage, in the round and side stage configurations. One unisex dressing room is located adjacent to theatre space. The dressing room is fitted with benches, mirrors, mirror lights and costume racks. Shower and toilet facilities are attached. The room is fitted with an iron & ironing board and microwave. 2.5 Foyer
The foyer has a small PA system capable of making announcements, playing CDs or connecting to a portable music device. Access to playback equipment is available when Gasworks staff are rostered. The foyer is also a gallery space for our exhibitions program. 2.5 Testing & Tagging
All portable electrical equipment provided by the venue is tested and tagged according to AS/NZS3760 Australian Standard Any portable electrical equipment brought into the venue must be tested and tagged to this Australian Standard. Testing may be done by the venue staff at a cost to the hirer. 3.0 Sound Reinforcement 3.1 House System The Gasworks Theatre is equipped with a basic audio system sufficient for production playback and limited sound reinforcement applications.

Lighting Equipment 4.1 Lighting Grid
The Gasworks Theatre lighting grid consists of seven fixed lighting bars running the length of the theatre. Each lighting bar has 30 load circuits at 600mm centres (total Gasworks Arts Park 3 Technical Specification 2010
210). In addition there are 5 floor level load circuits (total 20) located in boxes in each corner of the venue. The total load capacity of the lighting grid is 1,600 kg. This load must not exceed 200kg to each nodal point of the truss. A covered dip trap (cable duct) that is internally divided with separate provision for audio, lighting control and power cables runs the perimeter of the theatre space. 4.2 Lighting Control Strand 300 Series 200 channel Console

There is an assortment of rigging gear including, slings, shackles, scaff clamps, scaff pipe, etc. available. All rigging in the venue must be installed and signed off by a licensed rigger. 5.2 Stage Cloths
Gasworks Theatre has a curtain track that runs the perimeter of the space, 5.5 metres from the floor/stage level. Drapes (black wool) 5.50m x 2.50m 24 (Note, the grid is at 6m. If drapes are to reach the floor, they must be hung from perimeter curtain track, or from bars that need to be rigged at correct height and position for your specific production) Canvas backdrop 6m x 12m 1 Natural fibre colored canvas cloth backdrop is available to hire for projection or cyclorama use. This cloth has a seam through the middle, running from side to side. Suitable for front lighting and/or front projection only. Use of this item will incur an additional hire charge. Working at Heights 7.1 Cougar Lift The theatre provides 2 x JLG elevated work platforms. The 20MVL model has a 5.94m platform height, standard extension platform width 800mm, and point and go steering. Hirers will be instructed in its safe and proper use and operation at the commencement of the hire period. It is policy at Gasworks that operators of this EWP must either have an EWP operators ticket, or be supervised by someone who does. 7.2 Ladders
