| Owned since 6/24/10. IMHO not worth the price as is. I got this on a whim since it had a instant discount promotion with a nice sized rebate. They seem ok with hackers mucking with the code and 3rd party mods are available. The G15 is pure amazing. I absolutly love it.. | |

DMS 700 Digital Microphone System
AKGs revolutionary DMS 700 is designed to provide the required number of channels in every situation. New, intuitive user interface and unprecedented audio quality make it easy to get better results than ever before. The DMS 700 is the first professional digital wireless microphone system that conforms to both FCC and European ETSI guidelines and therefore can be used worldwide. 155 MHz frequency range of transmitter and receiver gives the user the necessary flexibility even in a crowded RF environment. The 512 Bit state of the art encryption offers the necessary security for sensitive audio transmissions and to protect the most important value your Knowledge. The digital audio transmission finally eliminates distortions and significant noise levels at high audio frequencies. It also protects you from bad audio performance due to low RF link quality. Ideal for conferences, seminars, courtrooms, houses of worship, broadcast applications, stage, guitar and music performances.

AKGs CU 700 is a fast charger that rapidly charges the rechargeable batteries inside the transmitter without damaging the cells' elements. CU 700 charger determine the optimum charge current and has a cooling fan to help keep the temperature of the cells under control. Charging is terminated when both batteries are fully charged. The CU 700 charger use the pulse technology in which a pulse is fed to the battery. This DC pulse has a strictly controlled rise time, pulse width, pulse repetition rate (frequency) and amplitude. With pulse charging, high instantaneous voltages can be applied without overheating the battery.
Architects and Engineers Specifications The charger shall be housed in a rugged plastic case with two multifunctional charging slots for charging DMS 700 series wireless transmitters. Each charging slot shall accommodate a handheld or bodypack transmitter and the charger shall be capable of charging any combination of transmitters (e.g., one DHT 700 and one DPT 700 simultaneously). The batteries shall remain inside the transmitter(s) during charging. The charger shall detect any dry (non-rechargeable) battery inside a transmitter and automatically stop the charging cycle if a dry battery is inserted. A status LED shall be placed in front of each charging slot. These tri-color (red/amber/green) LEDs shall indicate the charger's current operating status: amber - battery is being tested; red - battery is being charged; green - battery is fully charged and charging cycle finished; flashing red - error. The voltage and temperature shall be monitored during the charging cycle and a signal given at the end of a charging cycle to indicate that full capacity has been reached. All required safety parameters shall be monitored and the charging cycle stopped if one or more safety parameters fall below or exceed the acceptable range. Operating voltage shall be 12 VDC, 1.5 A max. The charger shall accept NiMH or NiCd rechargeable batteries with a minimum capacity of 1500 mAh. Typical charging time 2 hours (depending on battery type and capacity). The charging unit shall operate in vertical and horizontal position to use it on a table or in a 19 rack. Two charging units shall be put together and mount into a 19 rack. The charger shall measure 197 x 83 x 87.5 mm (LxHxD), weigh approx. 620 g, and be black. The charging unit shall be the AKG Acoustics Model DHT 700 or equivalent.

Technical Information
Wireless Basics
Every wireless microphone system has to operate on one specific frequency Transmitter and receiver of a system need to work on the same frequency Two transmitters cannot be used with the same frequency at the same time
Receiver/Antenna Placement
Direct line of sight between transmitter and receiver antenna Place the receiver/antennas at least 5 ft. (1.5 m) away from all transmitters Place the receiver antennas at least 5 ft. (1.5 m) away from any big metal object, wire(particularly wire mesh) or sheet metal structures, walls, ceilings, etc. Do not place the antennas in hidden places (behind walls) Place the receiver at least 5 ft. (1.5 m) away from any equipment that may emit RF radiation such as lighting racks, fluorescent lamps, digital effect units, or PCs
Squelch
DMS 700 has a variable squelch level. This level depends on the RF-environment and is adjusted automaticaly in order to ensure best quality in the range of operating. The audio turns on only in the presence of an DMS700 transmitter with the correct encryption key and an adequate signal quality If received signal has a bad quality or can not decrypted the audio output is muted
Intermodulation Intermodulation is the result of two or more signals of different frequencies being mixed together, forming additional signals that are not harmonic frequencies of either.
By using more than one transmitter simultaneously at the same location, intermodulation happens in the receiver and/or transmitter. In your case this intermodulation products are generated in the bandwidth that you are using. To avoid intermodulating frequencies, we offer you pre-calculated frequencies as presets in the DSR700, SR450 and SR4500 receiver. Please, make sure that when setting up a multi channel system, all your receivers are set to the same country preset (NAME) and group. Use the Quicksetup function (Automatic setup) to scan for intermodulation-free and clean frequencies at your venue.

Cable Attenuation
To obtain the best sound possible, you need to have the right RF input level throughout your signal chain. Premium quality wireless systems like the DMS700, WMS450 and WMS4500, offer you adjustable RF-level settings that garantee to maximise operating distance even when using different cable lenghts and different types of cable! For this purpose, AKGs PS4000W antenna splitter, has 3 dip switches that youll find on the right side of its front panel, behind the AKG logo.
