BlackBerry RIM 6280
The RIM BlackBerry 6280 features a phone, wireless internet, organizer, corporate data access and more - all in the palm of your hand. Utilizing tri-band connectivity (850/1800/1900 MHz) on GSM/GPRS networks, you can ensure you will stay connected wherever your business or pleasure takes you.
The phone measures 4.5 x 2.9 x 0.8 inches and weighs 4.8 oz. It is loaded with functions. Its high contrast monochrome screen makes browsing and reading text simple in all conditions, as it is designed to be viewed in extreme sunlight or in the dark. The backlit QWERTY keypad located below the large screen is simple to use when navigating, typing or sending quick messages. The slim device features a trackwheel and Back key located on the right-hand side, allowing for easy navigation. With an integrated earpiece and microphone, you can hear and speak loud and clear. The 6280 also comes with an additional hands-free headset.
For receiving a call or incoming message, the device has a number of notifications. With numerous tones to choose from, the 6280 is fully customizable, and even allows users to choose vibrating notifications as well as on-screen and LED indicators. Supporting full text messaging capabilities, you can send messages on the fly. The device also uses T9 text-prediction technology to send fast and simple messages. Its Li-ion battery allows for up to five hours of talk-time and a whopping 16 days while on standby. The device also features up to 16MB of flash memory.
The Embedded RIM wireless modem makes navigating the web and sending and receiving emails simple and convenient. You can manage up to 10 different personal or business accounts from the device. You can also send numerous file types using the email functions including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel spreadsheets, PDF files and more. The included USB cable allows you to transfer files to your home or office PC. The included travel charger adapts to the same port, and the device comes included with a swivel holster and handheld stand.
Additionally, the 6280 offers complete security with password protection and keyboard lock to ensure all your information remains safe. Wherever you happen to travel for business or pleasure the RIM BlackBerry 6280 ensures you can access all of the contacts and information you need with the click of a button.
-Excellent sound quality -QWERTY backlit keyboard is very user-friendly -Excellent battery, featuring a standby time of 16 days -Excellent reception
-The phone lacks many features that are widely available on modern cellphones. -No speakerphone -No camera -Lacks an expansion slot -Bulky size -Monochrome screen
Overall
The BlackBerry 6280 works well as a phone and has features that are easy to use and navigate through. Because it is an older model, it lacks many modern features. All in all, the BlackBerry RIM 6280 will be an excellent choice as a backup device to use in case your current phone gives in.
