WARNING: BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION, READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY! THE WARRANTY WILL BE VOID IF INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT FOLLOWED EXACTLY. DO NOT WORK UNDER CAR UNDER A VEHICLE SUPPORTED BY A JACK. ALWAYS SUPPORT THE VEHICLE ON SAFETY STANDS.
Raise and support vehicle, allowing suspension to hang free. Remove the wheel. Disconnect the shock absorber electrical connector. Support the lower control arm with a jack stand or screw jack in order to relieve the spring load. Remove the lower shock absorber nut(s) and bolt(s). Remove the upper mounting nut(s). On some models, the upper shock mounting nuts are located in the trunk behind the trim cover. Remove the shock from the vehicle. On some models, you may have to compress the shock by hand to remove from the mounting.
NOTE: THE ELECTRONIC DAMPENER SOLENOID SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE OLD STRUT, AND THEN SECURED TO THE VEHICLE WITH A TIE STRAP. THIS WILL NEGATE THE NEED FOR ANY PROCEDURE TO DISARM ALARM CODES. IF THE SOLENOID IS DAMAGED OR CANNOT BE REMOVED, USE THE RESISTORS SENT WITH THE CONVERSION KIT.

LIGHT DISARM RESISTORS the resistors are connected into the wiring at each wheel to bypass the original dampening solenoid so that the Road Sensing Suspension will function without giving the driver a suspension error message on the instrument cluster. INSTALL RESISTORS Cut the wires leading to the dampening solenoid on the strut/shock. Connect the wires to the ends of the resistor. (This is an in-line resistor so it does not matter which wire goes in or out.) Tape up both ends with suitable electrical tape to prevent both shorts and corrosion. Tie back out of way with a plastic strap. NOTES: The resistors are only meant to bypass the dampening solenoids, not disable the entire system. Check the suspension codes to ensure that you don't have other problems that will cause a suspension error message. To get an accurate reading of any suspension problems you may have occuring, you will need to clear all suspension codes and then test drive the vehicle and watch for suspension error messages. If you have problems getting the resistors installed, you can remove the original dampening solenoids out of the strut/shock, and reconnect their wiring and tie them back out of the way.
