Its combination of outstanding reliability, excellent overall ease of use and commendable image quality has earned the Canon i-SENSYS MF9170 an Autumn 2008 BLI Pick award for Outstanding Small Workgroup Colour Multifunction Printer. The Canon i-SENSYS MF9170 provided an impressive performance in BLIs two-month evaluation. A 21-ppm multifunction printer offering standard network printing, copying, I-fax, fax, remote scan via TWAIN and WIA drivers, as well as Canons Colour Send scan functionality, the unit demonstrated a perfect reliability performance, completing BLIs two-month, 65,000impression durability test without requiring any service or experiencing a single misfeed. In addition to its flawless reliability test performance, we were impressed by the wealth of ease of use features that Canon has added to this product, such as the new swivel-mounted 88.9-mm colour TFT screen, a scroll wheel for fast data entry, two host USB ports for printing and scanning and SD card printing capability, said David Sweetnam, BLIs European lab and research manager. Printing digital camera pictures from SD and CF memory cards was a very simple process and the capability includes a useful index print feature, a preview mode taking advantage of the vibrant TFT colour screen and the ability to print up to four pictures onto a single page for perfect album size images. Canon also offers a host of features that allow business users to be more cost efficient. These include cost control accounting as standard, long life toner cartridges and an auto-colour mode for copy and print. We are delighted to have earned this recognition from the respected experts at BLI, said Akira Adachi, European laser product manager at Canon Europe.
