Connection Terminals

Canon MD 205 Camcorder

In Camera Mode To zoom, use the Zoom Lever left/right to zoom in/out to frame the scene Press the Record button to start recording Press the Record button again to stop recording Switch Off between recording to preserve battery power
To access the Firewire, Microphone and AV terminals, open the LCD screen Take care when connecting leads, connect to the correct terminal to prevent damage to the camcorder

Inserting the DV tape

Slide the Open/Eject button in the direction of the arrow and open the Tape Compartment Cover. Wait for the Tape Carriage to rise and open Insert the DV tape into the Tape Carriage with the tape window facing the Grip belt Close the Tape Carriage and wait until it retracts automatically Close the Tape Compartment Cover

Basic Operations

Check Battery Status
Selecting Camera Settings
Open the LCD screen and rotate as required

ZoomLever

Check the Battery icon on the LCD screen

Fullpower

Nopower
Check there is sufficient battery power to record video or to capture video onto a PC Do not open the tape compartment on low battery level as it will jam
In Camera Mode, press FUNC Use the Joystick up/down to select an item from the side menu Move the Joystick left/right to select a an item from the bottom menu Press FUNC to save and close the menu

LCD Menus
Slide the Lens Cover Switch down to open the Lens Cover
Scene mode Select [P] from the side menu, then select from Program AE (auto), Portrait, Sports, Night, etc. on the bottom menu.
Holding down the Lock button move the Mode Switch to Camera for recording video or to Play to playback video

Joystick FUNC D.EFFECTS

LCD Menu
White balance Select [AWB] from the side menu, then select from AWB (auto), daylight, tungsten, etc. on the bottom menu.

Recordbutton Modeswitch

If the LCD Menu is not shown, press the Joystick centrally to show/hide
Wide screen Select Menu from the side menu, press the joystick to access Camera setup. Press the Joystick right then move the Joystick down to select Wide screen. Press the Joystick and select ON or OFF, press FUNC to close. Audio Quality Select Menu from the side menu then press the Joystick. Use the Joystick down to access Audio setup then press the Joystick. Select Audio mode, press the joystick and select 16bit for best quality, press FUNC to close.

Lockbutton

The Joystick can be moved up/down/left/right to select a corresponding option on the LCD Menu
