AV Surround Receiver
A/V Home Theater Receiver with 3D Video Connectivity
Designed to provide the ultimate surround sound experience, the AVR-1911 delivers a surprising level of features, technology and performance in an affordable and easy-to-use component. It's also one of the first to come equipped with HDMI 1.4a features, including 3D pass-through (Broadcast and Blu-ray), along with Audio Return Channel. The surround decoder features full 32 bit floating point processing, and handles the latest high resolution audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, which are found on many popular Blu-ray releases. As well, the AVR-1911 features Dolby Pro Logic IIz decoding, which provides for an expanded front soundstage by deriving two additional height channels, as well as providing Music, Movie and Game surround modes with conventional stereo audio sources. Setup is fast and easy thanks to Audyssey MultEQ automatic room acoustic measurement and correction, and the versatile remote can control other components in your home theater system and is easily programmed.

State-of-the-art Denon Solutions for Maximizing Content Quality
Fully discrete, identical quality and power for all 7 channels (90 W x 7ch) Stable power supply for high-quality sound and picture playback High definition audio support, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Supports Dolby Pro Logic IIz processing with front height effects channels All sources are up-scaled to 1080P
Lower power consumption at stand-by 0.1 W (Standby)
Fully discrete, identical quality and power for all 7 channels (90 W x 7ch)
To faithfully reproduce the original surround sound, each of the AVR-1911s 7 channels is equipped with the same power amp of equal power. Since these power amps also use discrete circuits configured with parts strictly selected for their contribution to high sound quality, rather than with low-cost integrated circuits (ICs), the surround sound playback is of impeccably high quality.
All sources are up-scaled to 1080P
The AVR-1911 provides an HDMI Video Up-scaling function that scales analog input video signals to high-definition 1080p signals and outputs them via the HDMI port to the TV. This not only makes it unnecessary to connect the TV to the AVR-1911 with additional cables besides the single HDMI cable, it also lets you enjoy any video source in refreshingly detailed picture quality.
Dock connectivity for iPod and network streaming
Network music can be enjoyed via the Denon Networked Control Dock. (Requires separately-sold ASD-51W or ASD-51N.)
Power Amp Assign function, for versatility in using the AVR-1911 for different purposes
The AVR-1911 supports up to 7.1 channels (FL/ FR/ C/ SL/ SR/ SBL/ SBR/ SW) for surround playback defined by the Blu-ray disc format. To enjoy surround playback with the AVR-1911s Dolby Pro Logic IIz, you can reassign the power amp from the two surround back channels (SBL/SBR) to the two front high channels (FHL/FHR). Or by assigning the SBL/ SBR power amp to Zone 2, you can enjoy multi-room audio playback, or to achieve higher-quality sound for 2-channel stereo playback, you can configure the AVR-1911 for front bi-amp operation. These are just some of the ways you can arrange the AVR-1911s amps to suit various listening styles.
Minimum Signal Path for clear audio and video signal
The simple and straight design concept has been thoroughly implemented in the signal paths to contribute to immaculately clean audio and video playback. Signal paths are as short as possible to keep signal degradation in the audio and video circuitry to an absolute minimum
Featuring 3D pass-through technology
By connecting a 3D-compliant Blue-ray disc player and 3Dcompliant TV to the AVR-1911, you will have a 3D home theater where you can enjoy high-definition sound and video on a level youve never experienced before.
Direct Mechanical Ground Construction, embodying concepts for thorough vibration resistance
Vibration-resistant construction has been reviewed to thoroughly suppress the adverse influences of vibration on sound quality. The power transformers, a source of vibration, have been securely mounted on the highly rigid bottom chassis. Direct mounting of cast-iron feet to the radiator in near proximity to each other serves to suppress mutual vibration with the power transformers and other sources of vibration.
S u p p o r t s H D M I 1. 4 a w i t h 3 D, Au d i o R e t u r n Channel, Deep Color, x.v.Color , Auto Lipsync and HDMI control function
When you connect the AVR-1911 to a TV with a single HDMI cable, it supports Audio Return Channel (ARC)(*1) that can play back the TV audio in surround sound. Until now, if you wanted to enjoy surround sound from a TV, you needed to use an optical digital cable or coaxial digital cable to bring sound from the TV to the A/V receiver. The AVR-1911s ARC feature, however, helps you keep cable connections neat and out of the way as you build your home theater. *1: The TV must also support ARC.
With the AVR-1911s on-screen display, you can easily make settings for your home theater system while viewing menus on the TV screen. You can check the status of each setting, such as the volume level when youre adjusting the volume, or the name of the input source when switching input sources.
Compressed Audio Restorer to enhance digital music files
4 x HDMI in / 1 x HDMI out (Repeater)
High-definition audio support
The AVR-1911 has a decoder that supports Dolby TrueHD, the audio format of Blu-ray disc players, and DTS-HD Master Audio, another high-grade digital audio format.
Direct play for iPod and iPhone via USB
You can also listen to music files from your iPod by simply connecting it to the AVR-1911s USB port with the USB cable that came with the iPod. To start play, just press the iPod Play button on the AVR-1911 or its remote control unit. Digital signals from the iPod are transmitted as is to the AVR-1911 where they pass through the compressed audio restorer and are processed by advanced audio circuitry to produce a clean, high-quality sound.
Dolby Pro Logic IIz
To experience a dramatically expanded front soundstage, the AVR-1911 is equipped with a Dolby Pro Logic IIz processor. By connecting Front Height speakers and using Dolby Pro Logic IIz playback, you will be able to enjoy surround sound in the vertical as well as horizontal direction. Main Specifications

Reference Level Offset Audyssey Dynamic EQ is referenced to the standard film mix level. It makes adjustments to maintain the reference response and surround envelopment when the volume is turned down from 0 dB. However, film reference level is not always used in music or other non-film content. Dynamic EQ Reference Level Offset provides three offsets from the film level reference (5 dB, 10 dB, and 15 dB) that can be selected when the mix level of the content is not within the standard.
0dB (Film Ref) : This is the default setting and should be used when listening to movies. 5dB : Select this setting for content that has a very wide dynamic range, such as classical music. 10dB : Select this setting for jazz or other music that has a wider dynamic range. This setting should also be selected for TV content as that is usually mixed at 10 dB below film reference. 15dB : Select this setting for pop/rock music or other program material that is mixed at very high listening levels and has a compressed dynamic range. Setting is enabled when Dynamic EQ is ON (vpage52).

Compressed audio formats such as MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio) and MPEG-4 AAC reduce the amount of data by eliminating signal components that are hard for the human ear to hear. The RESTORER function generates the signals eliminated upon compression, restoring the sound to conditions near those of the original sound before compression. It also corrects the sense of volume of the bass to obtain richer sound with compressed audio signals. Setting details OFF : Do not use RESTORER. Mode 1 (RESTORER 64) : Optimized mode for compressed sources with very weak highs. Mode 2 (RESTORER 96) : Apply suitable bass and treble boost for all compressed sources. Mode 3 (RESTORER HQ) : Optimized mode for compressed sources with normal highs. This item can be set with analog signals or when a PCM signal (fs = 44.1/48 kHz) is input. This cannot be set when the surround mode is set to DIRECT or PURE DIRECT. This item default setting for iPod and USB/iPod is Mode 3. All others are set to OFF. When set to something other than OFF, is displayed. Pressing RESTORER on the remote control unit or the main unit makes this setting.
