Technical Information for the Off Center Stage
Our studio theater, located at the back of the Center at 315 Richardson Street, offers independent theater companies, small musical groups, and lecturers a flexible venue for audiences of up to 100 people.

There is 3-hour metered street parking on West Main Street and Richardson Street, plus a small parking lot with 12 spaces (including an ADA space) immediately adjacent to the loading doors for staff and production vehicles and a larger 24-space (including one ADA space) public parking lot just west of the small lot (12 of these spaces are by permit only Monday through Friday between 7 am and 6 pm). Each parking lot has its own access to Richardson Street. _________________________________________________________________ Seating Movable chairs on five levels (including the main floor) allow for a maximum capacity of 100 seats tightly spaced or 85 seats more comfortably spaced (the 85 seat configuration is recommended). _________________________________________________________________ Stage Area and Dimensions The stage is built directly on top of concrete, and there are no wings and no proscenium.

There is permanent wheelchair access to all areas of the theater. The staff and production parking lot contains one ADA space, and the adjacent public parking lot also contains one ADA space. _________________________________________________________________ Grid The grid is dead-hung 10-6 from the floor, and access is via stepladders. _________________________________________________________________ Soft Goods
Although there are no permanent draperies or soft goods in the stage area, a 10-foot wide black velour curtain is available to hang either directly behind the movie screen or against the back wall. _________________________________________________________________ Lighting Control Both house and stage lighting, as well as work lights, are controlled from the lighting/audio platform area at the south end of the auditorium. All connectors are Edison. All electrics are dead hung 10-6 from the floor. ETA 1226 and Levitron MC7016 16/32 channel microplex memory console, located on the lighting/audio platform at the south end of the auditorium.

Instruments are patched into modular-grid mounted dimmer packs. A limited amount of Roscolux color is available. Original color must be restored during strike. Fixtures

Access for focusing is via step ladders. Standard House Plot
Color frames: fourteen 7 frames and eight 6 frames.
The house plot consists of five areas of R-33 front light, as well as warm and cool backlight.
_________________________________________________________________ Projection A 10-ft. roll-up screen hangs above the front of the stage. The distance from the tech booth to the screen is 26 ft. Two small 4x4 portable screens are also available. Currently, there is no projector in the theater. _________________________________________________________________ Sound System The sound system is minimal, consisting of a Peavey XR684F 9-channel mixer and amp, two Peavey TLM 2X used for house mains, and an assortment of mic stands. _________________________________________________________________ Piano A Kimball studio upright piano is available for rehearsals.

Technical Information for the Center Stage
_________________________________________________________________ Overview Our 300 seat theater has become Grass Valleys premier venue for the performing arts. With permanently installed sound and lighting systems, an 1,800 square foot stage, tiered continental style seating and a 1500 square foot maple dance oor, this venue is readily adaptable to musical concerts, theater and dance presentations, seminars, workshops, trade shows, exhibitions, festivals and parties.

The combined total maximum capacity is 300 seats.

_________________________________________________________________ Stage Area and Dimensions This is a proscenium stage, with access from the house consisting of two sets of two-step movable stair units on stage right and stage left. Floor surface: medium density berboard (MDF) painted black Stage height: 2-6 Stage width: 58-6 Stage depth: 28 Proscenium height: 11-6 Proscenium width: 37-9 SR wing: 7-6 SL wing: 12-6 Six 4 x 8 platforms are available for use either as drum risers or, when legged up, as an extension to the front of the stage. Multiple congurations are possible, including an orchestra platform stage left, a runway into the audience, or a complete 4-foot apron extension across the full width of the proscenium. An 8 wide by 12 high arched opening on stage left can either be closed off or opened up to provide an additional performance area option on that side of the stage.

Dimmers Leviton dimmer packs are mounted to the electrics above the stage. Connectors All stage lighting connectors are Edison. Electrics All electrics are dead hung. Console Leviton MC7524 24/48 channel memory console, 384 memory scenes, 24 submasters, encoder, DMX512, NSI Micro-Plex and NSI MC 7008, located in the last two rows of the audience (no enclosure). Remote focus capability There is no remote focus capability at this time. Distribution Instruments are patched into modular grid-mounted dimmer packs. Color A limited supply of Roscolux color is available. Original color must be restored during strike.

Backlight Eight 6 par cans on the upstage electric provide two color washes (warm and cool), with four par cans per color. Specials A hot spot center stage consisting of one 500w fresnel from the rst electric. Cyc Three color washes (red, blue and amber) provided by a combination of two 1000w 3-cell sky cycs and two 1000-w single cell sky cycs.
