8. Experience HTC Sense
HTC HD2 is the first Windows Mobile phone to embody HTC Sense, a holistic experience based on three core principles make it mine, stay close, and discover the unexpected.
Make it mine
Personalized Home screen See the time and weather of your current location on the weather clock of the Home screen. The Home screen also displays your upcoming appointment. Tap the respective item when you want to change the weather clock to display another location, update the weather information, or access the Calendar. Essential features that you commonly use, such as People, Messages, Mail, Internet, and more, are readily accessed up front on the Home screen. The tabs at the bottom of the Home screen correspond to the different phone features. Simply press and hold the active tab and then slide your finger right or left to the feature you want to use. You can also directly tap a tab.
You can also personalize the Home screen with an animated or picture wallpaper (by tapping Menu > Home Wallpaper), rearrange the tabs, as well as add quick links to people who matter most to you, your favorite websites, and applications.
12 Quick Start Guide
Stay close
Its all about people Bringing people who matter most closer to you thats what your phone is all about. Put people you keep in touch with often up front on your Home screens People tab. Simply tap the photo of a contact to quickly place a call or create a new message to send to this contact.
Since your phone organizes text and multimedia messages, email conversations, and phone logs of a contact all in one place, you get to see at a glance all communications with that person. Your phone also keeps you in tune with your social circles by seamlessly integrating Facebook information into the personal details of your stored contacts. You can instantly see what theyre doing and know whether they have new photos or other updates. More importantly, you are well informed about their birthday and other important events.
Quick Start Guide 13

Sending messages to multiple contacts is made easier, too. Slide to the Groups tab and create a group of selected contacts so you can easily send a text, multimedia, or email message to the group without having to add the addressed contacts to your message one by one.

With the phones high-resolution camera, you can take a photo and immediately upload it to your Facebook album. While twittering, you can also send a photo with your tweet message. Whats more, you can capture a video and share it on YouTube. See Share Photos and Videos on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube in this guide for details.

Quick Start Guide 15 Onscreen keyboard To enter text, choose from three onscreen keyboard layouts: Full QWERTY, Compact QWERTY, and Phone Keypad. 16. Troubleshooting Tips
Below are basic troubleshooting tips and additional information to help you understand more about your phone.
Q.What should I do if the phone hangs or is operating slowly?
You can try restarting your phone or free up memory on the phone. Try uninstalling extra plug-ins from the phone to eliminate any functional instability that they may cause. After backing up your data and files, restore the phone to its factory default settings. From the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab, tap Security > Factory reset, and then follow the onscreen instructions to restore your phone to factory default settings. If your phone hanged and you are unable to enter Windows Mobile, perform a hard reset. For more information about hard reset, refer to the Managing Your Phone chapter in the User Manual PDF.
Q.The phones standby time seems to be decreasing.
Standby time may differ, depending on how you use your phone. Turning on and using wireless functions such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi will use up the battery faster. Long duration calls, camera usage, Internet connection, and more will use up the battery faster. Batteries are consumable items and should be replaced every eight months to a year. For more information, you can also visit HTCs support website. On the support website, select your phone model and refer to the FAQs.
