Seems like all the new smartphones have their of share of defects. I have a HTC touch. The first one had Windows Mobile 6.1 installed. What kind of research was done for this article? First of all, the pictures are all of the HTC Touch DIAMOND. I think the once the HTC Dream, HTC Dream, and Google Android are released, it will really open up the field of what a cell phone can do. Yes.

It constantly freeze up. T-mo exchanged my phone twice and all three of them had the same problem. Overall I believe this phone is worthwhile getting if you can look past the minor flaws that this phone contains. I am happy with the phone. Hope they come up with a solution to the short battery life. Display is great! The apps are terrific and the ease of use.

Love this phone--fast processor, great ROM/RAM, very sleek & lightweight. However, like other HTC devices. As an upgrade from the Palm Treo 700wx I must say this phone is quite an improvement for me.

The HTC Touch is a good all-around phone with touch screen capability that is above average for its class. But. Very compact and comfortable cell phone with long battery life and good working EDGE. PDA functions are good.

I bought the Touch about three months ago for the Bell network. A quick summary of the problems are that the volume out of the ear piece is horrific.

Using Phone Features

2.1Making Calls

To make a call, you can either dial a number or select a contact you want to call.
Note Most SIM cards are preset with a PIN (personal identification number) that is provided by your wireless service provider. When prompted, enter the preset PIN, then tap Enter. If you enter the wrong PIN three times, the SIM card is blocked. If this happens, you can unblock it with the PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) obtained from your wireless service provider.
Making a call from the Phone screen
To open the Phone screen, press the TALK/SEND button ( on the TouchFLO 3D Home tab.

), or tap Phone while

The Phones Smart Dial feature makes it quick and easy for you to place a call. When you start entering a phone number or contact name, Smart Dial automatically searches and sorts the contacts on the SIM and in Contacts, and the phone numbers in Call History (incoming, outgoing, and missed calls). You can then select the desired number or contact from the filtered list. You can just enter the first letter of the name or number of a contact. Smart Dial searches for contact phone numbers and the first character of a contact name as well as from the character that appears after a space, dash, or underscore in a contact name.
42 Using Phone Features For example, if you tap number 2 on the phone keypad, which is associated with [a, b, and c] on the Phone keypad, contact names such as the following are considered matches: Ben Miller, George Adams, John-Carter, Carter, Ellen, Dixon, Allan, Thomas_Clark, JaneCampbell. If the matching list is long and you want to narrow down the search further, enter another letter. Using the same example above, if you continue to tap 3 which is associated with [d, e, f ], the matching list is narrowed down to the following names: Ben Miller, George Adams, Carter, Ellen, Dixon, Allan. To call a phone number or contact 1. Press the TALK/SEND button. 2. Begin entering the first few numbers or characters by tapping the keys on the Phone keypad. As you enter numbers or letters, the Smart Dial panel displays matches found. If you tap a wrong number or character, tap to erase each subsequent digit or character. To erase the entire entry, tap and hold.

Note If a Windows Media Player playlist contains a combination of music, video and image files, only music files in the playlist are synchronized to your device and other media types are filtered out.
