| I bought this fine camera in 2006 for around 800 euros and used it for some great modelshoots in Indonesia. Well, after many years of shooting film, I finally came across a job that just HAD to be shot in digital. I was using this camera for about 6 weeks and shot about 800 photos with it - from very-wide angle to ultra-telephoto ( in Grand Teton and Yellowstone... As of a month ago Kodak was offering these for $1,800.00 on ebay. What a bargain. This is every bit a F5 with lighting fast ISO~ 400 to 6400. | |

6. Using the Color Adjustment Options
Only in rare or unique shooting locations should custom color adjustment be required. Using the correct camera settings, lighting and software calibration, you should achieve excellent quality thermal print output. Before doing any color editing of images we highly recommend that the Camera and Printer firmware be updated to the latest version. PC Pro Software v3.20 offers three options for color adjustment with KODAK PROFESSIONAL 8660 and 8670 Thermal Printers Note: The XLS-8600, DS-8650, and 8657 Thermal Printers do not have the ability to load custom color profiles (.kcc); therefore, images produced using these printers cannot be custom color-adjusted. A. Simple, out-of -the-box color accuracy utilizes the cameras input profile and the printers output profile

7. Native support for other image file formats
PC Pro software can now read and display a variety of file formats directly using the Change Folder button on the left of the filmstrip. This new feature combines the import file access with the DCS camera folder for easier access of images. This replaces the Import File option in previous versions of the software. Adobe Photoshop files (.psd) JPEG files (.jpg) Windows Bitmap files (.bmp) Standard TIF files (.tif)
The available image file formats can be chosen in the System / Properties / Settings tab. Only the checkmarked file types will be shown on the filmstrip and Change Folder screen (as shown above).

The KODAK PROFESSIONAL DCS Photo Desk software / for WINDOWS Systems, which is included with KODAK PROFESSIONAL DCS Digital Cameras, duplicates a majority of the of the image options which are available in PC Pro v3.20. In typical imaging applications, the most efficient workflow involves opening the raw DCS or DCR image file directly into PC Pro and make any image adjustments within PC Pro. If DCS Photo Desk software is used in a workflow with PC Pro software, use Photo Desk v1.20 or later for best results. This software is available at www.kodak.com.

Black & White batch processing option is now available. To access Batch processing select the System button at the bottom left of the PC Pro main screen. Image filenames with this new version will now be displayed outside the image area on all proof sheets.
