Lenovo IdeaCentre A310 AiO Arrives in the US
Though Lenovo unveiled the IdeaCentre A310 all-in-one PC last month, the machine has only been selling in Japan, and the PC maker has now, finally, expanded availability to the US market, where two versions are currently listed as up for order.

All-in-one systems managed to establish their own market segment because there are plenty of end-users willing to pay a price premium for compactness. As time went by, PC makers even made a point of refining their designs, so that their computers also had a fair level of aesthetic value, and Lenovo's new IdeaCentre builds on this experience. At present, the official websites lists the IdeaCentre A310-40731GU and the IdeaCentre A310-40731HU, both of which have mostly similar specifications, except for their CPUs and storage. The IdeaCentre A310-40731HU is the most powerful of the pair, its configuration being centered around the Intel Core i5-450M central processing unit, whose frequency is of 2.4 GHz. This CPU is backed up by 4 GB of RAM, and the Intel HD integrated graphics will be sure to keep the 21.5-inch Full HD-ready glossy display occupied. The all-in-one also features a DVD writer, a built-in webcam, WiFi, a TV tuner and a 7-in-1 card reader, among other things. The second AiO, the IdeaCentre A310-40731GU, has the same memory, graphics and overall connectivity and I/O options as its sibling. Still, it is different from the other system through its CPU, namely the Core i3-350M, which settles for a clock speed of 2.26 GHz. The other difference is the hard drive. The lower-end Lenovo all-in-one has only 320GB of storage space available. The A310-40731GU and the A310-40731HU are pre-loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, come with a one-year warranty and cost $949 and $1,129, respectively.

Lenovo IdeaCentre A310 Gets Core i3 CPU By July 17
21.5-inch All-in-One PC inbound
The Intel Core family of central processing units, based on the 45nm manufacturing process technology, has struck once again. This time, the 2.26GHz Core i3-350M CPU has somehow found its way into one of Lenovo's most promising, and uniquely-designed, Lenovo IdeaCentre all-in-one personal computers. The AiO in question goes by the name of IdeaCentre A310 A300 All-in-one desktop gets new Core and is meant to become a major player on the market as early as this month.

Normally, one wouldn't expect this chip to land inside this type of machine, because, technically, it is a mobile dual-core and, thus, intended for laptops. Still, its 32nm-based computing cores and the 45nm-based integrated graphics should provide all the necessary processing and video/multimedia support that the AiO could possibly need. The rest of the specs are, more or less, common, at least for this type of computer. The chip is backed up by 3GB to 8GB of DDR3 memory, while storage space, up to 500GB, is provided by a hard disk drive. The screen size is of 21.5 inches and the LED-backlit panel itself has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Thus, it will definitely make the most out of the Intel GMA HD integrated graphics. The feature set also includes a 7-in-1 card reader, four USB 2.0 ports, a built-in webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth. All of the above parts and chips are somehow crammed inside an enclosure measuring 524 × 207 × 396 mm (width × depth × height). All in all, the Lenovo IdeaCentre A100, bundled with an external DVD writer, should meet the needs of any consumers when it finally starts shipping on July 17, or, at least, the needs of Japanese users with at least $1,243 to spare. As for the operating system, the AiO PC will be pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
