I have had my Motorola SLVR L7 for a year and a half and I cannot wait to get rid of it. The camera is blurry, the music speaker could be louder. Not sure where people are saying excellent call quality because mine always sounds like a bee is buzzing in my ear.

1. Turn off your L7; remove the back cover and your sim card. 2. Place your nail between the plastic aerial cover at the bottom, and the faceplate. (If you cant do this use the Mobile Phone Opening tool to get between the small gap). Pull until the lower aerial cover clips off.
3. Unscrew all 6 screws using the T6 screwdriver.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 3
4. Once you have done this remove the large silver top panel, your phone should look like this.
5. Now use your nail or tweezers to unclip all the ribbons on the phones mainboard. There are 3 all together, Screen Ribbon (top left), Screen to Keypad ribbon (bottom left), Signal Cable (bottom right).
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 4
6. Remove the camera from the mainboard (only if you need to replace it) by unconnecting the ribbon and pulling the unit out of the mainboard.
7. Put your nail at the top left or right corner, between the front fascia and the middle board. Pull until the fascia unclips around the middle; keep pulling gently until the fascia comes off completely.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 5
8. Remove the keypad (leave the white membrane on if it doesnt come off), your phone should now look like this.
9. To remove the earpiece speaker (if you need to) slide the tweezers between the earpiece and the housing and prize up slowly until it comes free.
Stick it into the new housing, use some double sided tape if you didnt remove the glue when you removed the earpiece.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 6
10.Unscrew the 2 T4 screws that hold the keypad to the mainboard, remove the 3 side buttons by sliding them out.
11.Lift the keypad board up slowly from the right hand side while keeping pressure on the left hand side (DO THIS CAREFULLY AS THERE IS A RIBBON ON THE UNDERSIDE) you should feel the ribbon unclick as you keep lifting.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 7
12.Your phone should now look like this.
13. Next remove the glass LCD cover, place the Mobile Phone Opening tool between the glass and the metal frame it is stuck to, gently apply more pressure until you fully remove it.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 8
14. Place the tweezers next to the side of the LCD and slightly bend the metal frame out over the clips that hold it in place.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 9
15. Work the tweezers down the side of the metal frame until one side is fully unclipped. You should now be able to simply pull it out. The LCD isnt glued in and you can just lift that out too. (BE CAREFUL NOT TO CATCH THE LCD RIBBON AT THE TOP)
Your phone should now look like this.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 10
16. Next is to remove the signal cable that is attached to the keypad board. Simply unclip the wire from the plastic gate that it is housed in, Use tweezers to do this and just lift the cable straight out.

19. The ribbon should be stuck to the silver backing on the opposite side, slide your tweezers between the ribbon and the silver backing (CAREFULLY AS NOT TO RIP OR SNAG THE RIBBON). Now lift it up with the tweezers until it fully unsticks.

Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 12

Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 13
22. To remove the hands free speaker, place the tweezers between the gap were the speaker sits in. Prize it up until you can pull it out with your fingers.

31. Screw the 2 T4 screws back into the keypad.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 17
32. Lay the LCD back into the housing and bend back the sides of the metal frame that covers it (IT SHOULDNT BE BENT THAT MUCH AT ALL BUT JUST IN CASE IT IS). 33.Push the bottom part of the metal frame between the LCD and the housing, then push down the sides and top so they clip in. The LCD and the frame should now be dead flat.
34. Get the mainboard and the camera unit slide the camera unit back into the gap in the mainboard, and connect the ribbon.
Ajay16 Motorola L7 Disassembly Guide v1.0 Page: 18
35. Turn the phone over and place the mainboard back into the phone, the bottom part with the battery connector goes in first. (MAKE SURE ALL 3 RIBBONS ARE ABOVE THE BOARD)

Safety and General Information
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION. READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE USING YOUR PHONE.1

Safety Information

Exposure To Radio Frequency (RF) Energy
Your phone contains a transmitter and a receiver. When it is ON, it receives and transmits RF energy. When you communicate with your phone, the system handling your call controls the power level at which your phone transmits. Your Motorola phone is designed to comply with local regulatory requirements in your country concerning exposure of human beings to RF energy.

Operational Precautions

To assure optimal phone performance and make sure human exposure to RF energy is within the guidelines set forth in the relevant standards, always adhere to the following instructions.

External Antenna Care

If your phone has an external antenna, use only the supplied or Motorola-approved replacement antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachments could damage the phone and/or may result in non-compliance with local regulatory requirements in your country. Do NOT hold the external antenna when the phone is IN USE. Holding the external antenna affects call quality and may cause the phone to operate at a higher power level than needed.

Batteries and Chargers

Batteries can cause property damage and/or bodily injury such as burns if a conductive material such as jewelry, keys, or beaded chains touch exposed terminals. The conductive material may complete an electrical circuit (short circuit) and become hot. Take care when handling a charged battery, particularly when placing it inside a pocket, purse, or other container with metal objects. Use only Motorola Original batteries and chargers. Caution: To avoid risk of personal injury, do not dispose of your battery in a fire. Your battery, charger, or phone may contain symbols, defined as follows:

Choking Hazards
Your phone or its accessories may include detachable parts, which may present a choking hazard to small children. Keep your phone and its accessories away from small children.

Seizures/Blackouts

Some people may be susceptible to epileptic seizures or blackouts when exposed to flashing lights, such as when watching television or playing video games. These seizures or blackouts may occur even if a person never had a previous seizure or blackout. If you have experienced seizures or blackouts, or if you have a family history of such occurrences, please consult with your doctor before playing video games on your phone or enabling a flashing-lights feature on your phone. (The flashing-light feature is not available on all products.) Parents should monitor their children's use of video game or other features that incorporate flashing lights on the phones. All persons should discontinue use and consult a doctor if any of the following symptoms
occur: convulsion, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, involuntary movements, or disorientation. To limit the likelihood of such symptoms, please take the following safety precautions: Do not play or use a flashing-lights feature if you are tired or need sleep. Take a minimum of a 15-minute break hourly. Play in a room in which all lights are on. Play at the farthest distance possible from the screen.
