I will buy other products from this manufacturer. Easy to use on automatic, but am still figuring out all the features. Great Camera - Works perfect no problems. Owned for 4 months and no issues. This camera is probably one of the best cameras I have ever owned. Our family takes a lot of pictures.

I am a semi pro, that is I took a 3 yr course, not a university degree course. I am a retired photographer who has used most everything upto and including 8x10 cameras in the studio and the field.

Overall, this being my first DSLR, I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and I really do love the camera. NEWEGG. Used the camera for astrophotograhy and the live view zoom, 7X or 10X, made focusing a C-8 scope a snap. Great Camera!

The batteries worked out amazing, and the bag is pretty decent. I have an olympus E-420 camera. I NEEDED these batteries, and they sure do work! Great Starter dslr Camera Even though this is a slightly older model, it is a great starter dslr camera. Good to have a spare battery, check capacity! This is a 1500mAh battery. There are also 1000mAh ones available which is just 2/3 the capacity.

Tis the season for a play

Fred Claus: A holiday comedy - but not classic
In an effort to reacquaint myself with holiday cheer through means other than How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Its a Wonderful Life, I picked the Vince Vaughn Christmas comedy, Fred Claus. Fred Claus (Vaughn) is the older brother of Nicholas Claus (Paul Giamatti), known more familiarly as St. Nick or Santa Claus. From birth, Nick had been full of kindness and holiday cheer - his first word was ho. Fred vowed to be the best big brother any child could have, yet constantly found himself overshadowed by his younger brothers saintliness. Centuries later, because Nick and his family dont age, Fred lives in Chicago and hates Christmas with a passion. He has plans to open a gambling business - he just needs $50,000. After soliciting money on a street corner for a made-up charity, Fred lands in jail and calls his brother to bail him out and see if he can get the extra thousands of dollars from him. Nick asks Fred to help him in the North Pole before Christmas and he will give Fred the money. Fred arrives and is put in charge of labeling children naughty or nice while another visitor, Clyde Northcutt (Kevin Spacey), the jaded efficiency expert, does what he can to shut down Nick and his Christmas operation. While Fred sulks in his brothers shadow and tries to liven up the elves, Nick only has three strikes before Northcutt terminates Christmas for good. Soon enough, Freds arrival stirs up the North Pole so much that Christmas and presents for the worlds children doesnt seem possible. To be honest, Im not sure who the movie was really made for - adults or children. If it was made for adults, I find it to be lacking comedy people would pay to see, especially with Vaughns past repertoire of movies. However, the familiar character he creates on screen - likable but with a questioning edge - is present. With Vaughn and Giamatti, you would be led to believe adults would find it amusing but the humor is mediocre and childish, although there were a few light laugh-out-loud scenes. I will admit, Chris Ludacris Bridges as DJ Donnie, the DJ elf who refuses to play anything but Here Comes Santa Claus, was amusing. The movie is rated PG, so its OK for the children. Parents would be happy to know there are several themes throughout the story, including the naughty/nice child debate, sibling rivalry and the ever-present is Santa real question. The wholesome images of the North Pole, as well as the explanation of where Santas letters go and the backlog to Santa Claus life are also nice refreshers for the children. It was nice to watch a holiday movie - or any movie, for that matter - with a storyline that hasnt been remade or mass-produced multiple times. Fred Claus is a decent change of pace from the predictable Christmas movie. Overall, I would recommend this movie to parents who want something funny and light to watch with the children during the holiday season that will keep them and yourself - entertained.

moments. The film gets viewers relaxed and laughing before wiping every smirk off with darker sequences that imply true drama. Its intense moments define every characters intentions and actively create true relationships as audiences emotions are instigated, which allow to further connect with the characters. Bale continues to evolve in this role and clearly defines himself into two different personalities. The distinctions are visible and allow for him to challenge himself in a different level. Bales facial expressions and body movements in the action sequences create tension within the film while his role as a civilian are slightly more relaxed and natural. Stealing every scene, though, is Ledgers highly publicized performance, who has created something legendary and impossible to forget. His chilling performance challenges audiences to forget his tamer roles in movies like 10 Things I Hate About You and instead he convinces audiences to think he is actually a sadistic psychotic. His subtle movements and line delivery is exactly why this iconic performance is not to be missed. Also starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine; PG-13.

Begins, audiences reunite with their beloved caped crusader (Christian Bale) who has been busy rounding up the cursed criminals of Gotham City. With Lt. involved are honored to have an opportunity to create this deserving tribute." Suellyn Rieckelman, MHS history teacher, said the grant not only lets students talk with an older generation but also helps record the nation's history before it is too late. "This grant is a wonderful opportunity for our students to meet and interview area World War II veterans in order to listen to their stories," Rieckelman said. "This is living history in action. The Library of Congress wants to collect as many stories as possible and since it has been 63 years since World War II ended, many of these veterans are in their 80s and 90s, so indeed, time is of the essence." If area veterans would like to participate in the project, contact Rieckelman as soon as possible to make arrangements. She can be reached at 309-833-6207 during school hours. Editors note: In the Wednesday, Dec. 3 issue of the Macomb Eagle, the date of Kozlowskis services was incorrect. His services will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, Macomb. A celebration of life will follow at WIU. The Eagle staff regrets the error. Gene Kozlowski, chair and professor emeritus of the theatre - now called theatre and dance - department at WIU, died at home in Macomb on Friday, Nov. 28. The service will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, 201 W. Carroll St., Macomb. A reception will follow from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in the WIU Lamoine Room. An actor, director and playwright, Kozlowski joined Westerns theatre faculty in 1973 and was named department chair in 1980. He retired in December 2005. During his tenure he directed, and acted in, more than 50 productions, two of which - Landscape of the Body and Agnes of God - were selected among only six productions produced at the regional American College Theatre Festival, representing the finest in university and college theatre productions. He also served as head of Westerns acting program; managing director of Summer Music Theatre; guest director of the State of Illinois Repertory Theatre; and artistic director and managing director of Westerns Regional Touring Theatre Company (RTTC), for which
WIU theatre chair emeritus dies Nov. 28
he has won several national awards for his adaptations of traditional fairy tales and childrens stories. In May 1999, the Illinois Alliance for Arts Education awarded the RTTC the annual recognition award for the companys outstanding contributions to the arts in Illinois. Kozlowski was awarded the John F. Kennedy Centers Gold Medallion for Excellence in 1994 and the Illinois Theatre Associations Life Achievement Award in 2001. He was a member of the American College Theatre Festival Executive Selection Committee for Region III, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio. He wrote nine plays that have been produced at local and regional theatres. He also has written and directed one independent screenplay, three industrial films and a childrens theatre television show for Dr. C. Productions. On two separate occasions, August 1986-August 1987; January 2003-June 2004, he served as interim dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication. Kozlowski earned his bachelors, 1967, and masters, 1968, degrees at Western and has post-graduate studies from the University of Iowa. He taught in New Hampshire before returning to Western in 1973. Area sports fans can delight in the fact that basketball season is in full swing and things have already gotten off to quite the start. West Prairie has turned a few heads recently with its play despite records that may indicate otherwise. Lady Cyclone basketball coach Brandon Mize has his young squad competing at a high level and it seems as if they could make some noise and surprise some teams down the road at
critical points in the season. Unfortunately for Mize and his team, they havent been able to garner a great deal of wins to this point. The West Prairie boys team has also looked solid during the Spoon River Tip Off Classic, beginning the season with an even 2-2 record. Drake Webster and the rest of his crew battled some stiff competition and let one slip away against Beardstown in a game they were tied at 26 at the half. I like to use Live View. If I stoppe use the viewfinder, I would have missed this spontaneous and playful shot of my niece. Theres a big, colorful screen on the back of the E-410 that lets you see exactly table what youre shooting. The camera is so comfor to hold; it goes everywhere with me. Life doesnt always wait to be posed. Thdattos why
Clarity. Detail. Definition. We want it in our televisions. Computers. Games. Shouldnt we demand the same of our photos? Lets abolish blurriness for good.
Theres so much detail and sharpness, you can almost reach in the photo and grab ot af a balloon. I got thisllyshfilljustthe ter ing
the kids had spent time carefu balloons. The excellent color and clarity come from the way the camera and Olympus lenses work perfectly together. Now, every time I see this photo, I remember how much fun it was getting drenched that day.
Dust. Its everywhere. Its annoying. Its relentless. It must be stopped. Weve declared war on dust. And driven it out of our cameras.
My E-410 has the amazing ability to dust its own insides.
Thats why this shot came out free of spots.
the The second I saw the buggy tear over the top of closer dune, I switched to a telephoto zoom lens to get st to the action. This can be hazardous, with du ng swirling everywhere, but the camera did its thi perfectly. The photos didnt need to be cleaned up later, although I definitely did.

Only Olympus digital SLRs are engineered to be 100% digital. Simply put, this makes innovative technologies like Dust Reduction and Live View possible. It also helps to produce pictures with stunning edge-to-edge sharpness that cant be achieved with other digital SLR cameras. A powerful 10-megapixel Live-MOS sensor gives you more detail in your pictures than ever before. Another reason for the astonishingly clear images is our awardwinning family of more than 20 Zuiko Digital lenses the most in the industry. Unlike older film lenses, these advanced, precision-engineered 100% digital lenses are designed to work perfectly with the cameras digital technology. The result? Your photos will have exceptional color and clarity. All Zuiko lenses are compatible with all Olympus digital SLR cameras.
The camera that dusts its own insides.

Keep dust spots off your photos. The Olympus dust-reduction system is an industry first and a proven technology. Every time you turn on the E-410, our Supersonic Wave Filter located between the shutter and the image sensor silently vibrates an amazing 35,000 times per second. Dust is shaken away. You can take full advantage of all the benefits of an SLR camera and change lenses anywhere without worrying about dust ruining your photos.

Give yourself plenty of focusing flexibility with five modes (Single AF, Continuous AF, Manual Focus, Single AF + Manual Focus, Continuous AF + Manual Focus). Built-in, auto pop-up flash with six modes including auto and red-eye reduction. Or manually adjust flash intensity. Shoot using jpeg format for no-hassle sharing, printing and viewing. Or shoot using RAW format for highest image quality and control. OLYMPUS Master Software lets you easily download, edit and print your photos. Enjoy looking at your pictures in a slide show.
Comfort and convenience packed into a portable design.
The second you pick up the E-410, youll notice how naturally it fits in your hand. The body is ergonomically designed for superior comfort. Its lightweight and sleekly styled so its a pleasure to carry and use for hours at a time. The Li-Ion rechargeable battery gives you about 400 pictures per charge. The E-410 sips energy so batteries last. An empty battery can be recharged again and again with the included charger. There are two memory slots that hold Compact Flash Type 1/II, Microdrive and xD picture cards. Use the dual slot design to transfer images you want to save from one card to another. Manage your memories better. The all-digital design of the E-410 makes it easy to keep your camera current. Just plug it into your PC and download the latest camera and accessory firmware updates. The EVOLT E-410 comes with everything you need to get started: a 14-42mm zoom lens, a rechargeable battery and charger, a USB cable, video cable, shoulder strap, instruction manual and OLYMPUS Master Software. From the innovator in Live View LCD technology.
Be an instant expert with scene select modes.
You might not have time to capture a photo using the traditional viewfinder. Or you may want to shoot high or low. Maybe you want to capture your subject quickly and spontaneously. You may just want to carefully compose your picture. Thats why we developed Live View technology. Its one advantage of being 100% digital that you wont find on other digital SLR cameras. View 100% of your image. What you see is how your photo will look. Preview and review photos on a high-resolution, 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD screen. See the screen with amazing clarity from any angle up to 176 degrees. Check the sharpness of a shot before snapping it with 7x or 10x magnification. The EVOLT E-410 makes you look like a pro. It has more scene and shooting modes than any other digital SLR camera. Simply select the right mode for your shot. The E-410 takes care of the rest. Youll find 20 easy modes covering practically every common shooting scenario, including Portrait, Fireworks, Sports, Landscape, Sunset, Beach + Snow, Underwater and many more.
