The entry-level AVX-380 home cinema package offers a brilliant combination of up-to-date features and rock-solid performance. At the heart of the system, the receiver pumps out 5.1 channels of finely calibrated surround sound. Three HDMI 1.4a inputs give you seamless, one-cable connection of high-def sources such as a Blu-ray player, a gaming console, and a cable/satellite tuner. The receiver can handle most audio formats, including advanced lossless codecs from Dolby and DTS. Digital signals passed through the AVX-380s receiver are converted to analog by high-quality Burr-Brown DACsa rare luxury at the entry level. To provide more low-end heft to your movies, music, and games, Onkyo also includes the new EX.Bass technology. Among the other highlights on the receiver are a handy overlaid On-Screen Display, a Universal Port for peripherals, and specialized audio modes for different game genres. HDMI 1.4a Support for 3D Video and Audio Return Channel
The three HDMI 1.4a inputs on the AVX-380s A/V receiver let you simultaneously connect high-def sources such as a Blu-ray player, a gaming console, and a cable/satellite tuner. A single output then sends a pristine signal to your connected highresolution display. As the latest version of this connector, HDMI 1.4a adds the exciting possibilities of 3D video and an Audio Return Channel. 3D video is the next big thing in home entertainment, with movie, game, and broadcast content on the increase and 3D-compatible TVs on the near horizon. This system also offers the convenience of an Audio Return Channel via HDMI. Audio content received directly by your HDTVs tuner can be sent upstream to the A/V receiver, without the need for a separate S/PDIF audio cable.

The AVX-380s A/V receiver can decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audiotwo lossless formats that enable delivery of a bit-for-bit soundtrack identical to the studio master track. These codecs, previously available only on mid-range and high-end receivers, take advantage of the high data capacity of the Blu-ray format.

EX.Bass for Deeper, More Dynamic Bass
Onkyos proprietary EX.Bass function boosts lowfrequency output at two separate points: 40 Hz and 80 Hz. At low volumes, EX.Bass creates a deeper, more dynamic bass sound for your music and movies. When the volume is turned up high, the boosted bass automatically returns to normal levels.
Universal Port for Single-Cable Connection of Optional Onkyo Dock for iPhone/iPod or DAB+ Radio Tuner
A proprietary Universal Port located on the rear side of the AVX-380s A/V receiver lets you connect an optional UP-A1 Dock for iPhone/iPod or UP-DT1 DAB+ Radio Tuner. If you have both peripheral devices, they can easily be daisy chained via an input on the UP-DT1. A key advantage of the Universal Port is that it accepts video and audio signals through the same cable that sends a power supply from the receiver to the devices. Net result: more connectivity, less cable clutter.
