An Ethernet port enables interactive Profile 2.0 BD-Live features, such as picture-in-picture, while an SD card slot lets you play back downloaded web content or stills and video from a digital camera. Stellar high-def video with NSV processing is accompanied by advanced 1080p upconversion and scaling of standard-def video. In HDMI Source Direct mode, the player can output the video signal in its native resolution, for processing on your A/V receiver. On the audio side, meanwhile, the BD-SP807 handles the studio-master quality of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential. With all this and more, the BD-SP807 is well set to integrate with todays most advanced home entertainment systems.
High-Definition Surround Sound from Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential
The BD-SP807s onboard decoders bring you the lossless, studiomaster quality of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential for Blu-ray Disc. The player outputs these formats in pure bitstream form via HDMI 1.3a, meaning nothing is lost from the original recording. Alternatively, if your connected receiver doesnt feature HDMI inputs but you still want to enjoy high-def surround sound, you can use the BD-SP807s 7.1-multichannel audio outputs.
Noise-Reduced Video Playback with NSV Technology
The BD-SP807 incorporates a high-quality 297 MHz/12-bit video DAC (ADV7340) featuring NSV (Noise Shaped Video) technology to reduce aliasing and noise in high-definition video signals. This high-speed DAC excels at reproducing details in high-resolution images, ensuring a video output that is as faithful as possible to the input source.
High-Grade Build Quality with Rigid Chassis and Center-Mounted Drive Mechanism
The BD-SP807 is crafted with typical Onkyo attention to build quality. Internal components that can cause vibrations are fixed directly onto the high-rigidity chassis or near the feet of the unit. Also, the drive mechanism sits low in the chassis to reduce vibration and provide optimal weight balance. The BD-SP807 features an independent digital and analog block design that reduces electromagnetic interference from the system power, drive mechanism, and signal-processing circuits. Further proof of this players superior build quality comes in the form of gold-plated audio and video outputs and 18 mm-pitch audio outputs for connection to high-grade cable.
1080p Upscaling of All DVD Sources
With the BD-SP807, standard DVD sources at various resolutions 480p, 720p, or 1080ican be upscaled to 1080p for playback on a compatible high-definition display. Interlaced-to-progressive conversion and scaling are performed by a high-quality Anchor Bay videoprocessing chip (ABT1030). This Video Reference Series chip employs 10-bit processing to ensure precise video conversion and scaling. Played back on a wide-screen display, your DVDs will look more detailed and cinematic than ever.

HDMI Source Direct Mode

In HDMI Source Direct mode, the BD-SP807 outputs the unprocessed video signal via HDMI, preserving the original resolution of the content. This enables you to have the video processing performed downstream, for example by a high-end A/V receiver incorporating the most advanced video-processing technology.
