I got this scanner about 16 months ago. I was looking for a scanner with an automatic sheet feeder, at a reasonable price, and the choice was limited. I bought this scanner to scan the tons of negs that I have.

Unless you are planning to do hundreds of professional scans a day, this is an excellent option for multi-function scanning of negatives. This is my 2nd Epson photo scanner, and I am very pleased with both (1st was a 2400 Photo). I like the Digital ICE dust and scratch removal.

Overall this scanner is more than I expected for use. It will handle everything I need in a scanner. The scanner is evetything that was said it was.

Good hardware that needs better MacOS software support The hardware is well designed and provides very good quality scans. aaxa p1 pico projector this is a great little projector , it is easy to set up. i like to play playstation with it and it goes on most flat surfaces.
Desummoner 9:11am on Friday, May 21st, 2010
Is built lightly, not for abuse, but ran continuously for a several day project without any problems. I wanted a scanner for 35mm and 6x7 black and white negatives that did a better job than my Epson 4870. I've had this for about two weeks and have had no problems. I've scanned photos and doents, both have come out great.

Misrepresented with No Customer Support I just want to echo the other reviewers of this piece of trash. I installed the BlazeVIdeo 1. 3-D, clarity, micro/macro and overall usefulness I use a full frame Nikon camera that is sensitive to low light and can use an f/2.

IMPORTANT NOTES

In addition to the items listed under USING THE UNIT SAFELY on page 23, please read and observe the following:

Placement

Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight, place it near devices that radiate heat, leave it inside an enclosed vehicle, or otherwise subject it to temperature extremes. Also, do not allow lighting devices that normally are used while their light source is very close to the unit (such as a piano light), or powerful spotlights to shine upon the same area of the unit for extended periods of time. Excessive heat can deform or discolor the unit.
Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or deformation.

Additional Precautions

Use a reasonable amount of care when using the units buttons, sliders, or other controls; and when using its jacks and connectors. Rough handling can lead to malfunctions.
When moved from one location to another where the temperature and/or humidity is very different, water droplets (condensation) may form inside the unit. Damage or malfunction may result if you attempt to use the unit in this condition. Therefore, before using the unit, you must allow it to stand for several hours, until the condensation has completely evaporated.
When connecting / disconnecting all cables, grasp the connector itselfnever pull on the cable. This way you will avoid causing shorts, or damage to the cables internal elements.
Do not allow rubber, vinyl, or similar materials to remain on the unit for long periods of time. Such objects can discolor or otherwise harmfully affect the finish.
This instrument is designed to minimize the extraneous sounds produced when its played. However, since sound vibrations can be transmitted through floors and walls to a greater degree than expected, take care not to allow these sounds to become a nuisance to neighbors, especially when performing at night and when using headphones.

Maintenance

For everyday cleaning wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth or one that has been slightly dampened with water. To remove stubborn dirt, use a cloth impregnated with a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Afterwards, be sure to wipe the unit thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.
The pads rubber surface may turn white, but this has no effect on the pads function.

Adjusting the Foot Plate Height
Depending on your kick pedal, it can be unstable when you attach it to the KD-8. Be sure to adjust the foot plate height so that the entire bottom surface of the pedal is attached to the floor.
Install the kick pedal securely. Take care not to pinch your fingers. The tips of the anchor bolts are sharp. Handle with care. When moving the setup, be sure to remove the screws and fold the stand. Transporting the KD-8 while it remains open may subject the stand to excessive strain and result in damage to the stand.
Commercially Available Kick Pedal
Adjusting the Anchor Bolts
When using the kick pedal on a carpet or similar surface, adjust the anchor bolts so their tips protrude from the plate and secure the pedal in place; this will make it easier to use the kick pedal. However, when used on flooring, the anchor bolts may damage the floor. Adjust the anchor bolts correctly. Adjusting the Anchor Bolts
* Adjust the height so that the entire pedal comes into contact with the floor.
1. Loosen the stands anchor bolts and remove the foot plate.

When Using on the Carpet

When using on the Floor
The tips of the anchor bolts are sharp. Handle with care.
2. Set the kick pedal so that the entire bottom surface is attached to the floor. 3. In most cases, the stand becomes somewhat floated. Tighten the anchor bolts securely there to fix the stand and foot plate.

When Using a Twin Pedal

Position the two beaters equally apart from the center of the pad as shown in the figure at left. If one of the beater is further away from the center than the other, the sound from the further beater will be lower in volume, or will not sound as desired.
This hight will vary depending on your kick pedal.
Using a twin pedal will result in lower sensitivity as compared to when a single pedal is used. Raise the sensitivity on the sound module.

Playing Methods

Choking
Choking (pinching) the cymbals edge with the hand immediately after hitting the cymbal makes the sound stop.
Do NOT play on the hard plastic section of the pad.

Bow Shot

This is the most common playing method, playing the pad face of the cymbal. It corresponds to the sound of the head-side of the connected trigger input.
To make use of choking play techniques, youll need to connect to a trigger input jack on the percussion sound module that accommodates rim shots.
