Add Exciting New Dimensions to Your Instrumental Performances
Rolands PK-5 Dynamic MIDI Pedal bass note pedalboard lets you play a variety of sounds from any external MIDI device, leaving your hands free to play your favorite musical instrument. The PK-5 puts the excitement and versatility to live bass performance with full MIDI control within reach of any musician. Easy one-foot operation gives you complete command over four separate Performance modes, letting you play bass lines as well as harmonies, drums and percussion sounds, or even sound effects. And the PK-5s impressive MIDI Controller Mode enable you to control virtually any MIDI function in live performance. Add exciting new dimensions to your instrumental performances with the versatile PK-5 Dynamic MIDI Pedal.
Create Unique Live Musical Arrangement Or Play Drums and Sound Effects
The PK-5 offers four different Performance modes - Bass, Poly, Drums and Sound Effects Modes - which each give you an exceptional variety of performance possibilities. In Bass Mode you can play authentic bass lines using one or both feet. Poly Mode lets you play two or more notes simultaneously. You can play drums or control sound effects with your feet using the Drum and Sound Effects Modes. Two Function footswitches provide instant control over a wide variety of useful function. You can also set the PK-5s Performance Modes to transmit on any MIDI channel and switch to other channels simply by selecting the appropriate footswitch. BASS MODE (monophonic) The PK-5s Bass Mode lets you play instrumental bass notes one at a time, similar to playing conventional organ bass pedals. You can use the MIDI PROGRAM function switch to change the sounds from external MIDI devices using your feet, while the OCTAVE/PARAMETER switch gives you handsfree control over Octave Shift, Double Octave, Retrigger, Hold and Velocity ON/Off function, making it easy to create dynamic MIDI performances. POLY MODE (polyphonic) In Poly Mode, you can use the PK-5 to play harmony by pressing two or more bass pedals simultaneously. And when you connect the PK-5 to instruments featuring Rolands Intelligent Arranger function such as the E-30 Intelligent Synthesizer or RA-50 Realtime Arranger, you can create sophisticated auto-accompaniments simply by playing one or more of the bass pedals to define a desired chord. You can also set the PK-5s Octave Shift and Velocity On/Off status and transmit MIDI Program Change Messages in Poly Mode, the same as in Bass Mode.
Live Bass Accompaniment - For Any Musician, Anywhere
Organists have long enjoyed using an organs built-in set of bass pedals to play bass parts along with their musical performance on the keyboard. Now the pK-5 lets musicians enjoy the convenience of using foot pedals to play bass lines on any MIDI musical instrument. Rugged steel construction and a selectable AC/battery power supply enable you to play the PK-5 in any performing environment. Whether you play keyboards, guitar, or any other instrument, now you can easily expand your live performance capabilities.
A13-Key MIDI Bass Pedalboard
The PK-5s 13-key pedalboard spans the chromatic range of an entire octave. You can adjust the PK-5s bass pedals for 13 different levels of velocity-sensitivity, providing dynamic expression flexibility far surpassing that of conventional bass pedals. And since the PK-5 is fully MIDI-compatible, it lets you play the sounds of any MIDI sound source from synthesizers to professional samplers. Since you can connect the PK-5 to any MIDI instrument, you can access any variety of bass sounds - everything from traditional spinet and church organ tones to acoustic and electric bass, bassoon, tuba or fantastic synth bass tones. You can also instantly transpose the pitch of the bass pedal over a nineoctave tonal range to play any instrument sound you like.

7. Proper disposal of toxic waste by contactors. Martha Marani writes: Weve just had a horrible experience with a floor refinisher that makes me want to warn the rest of the community, particularly as its the season for sprucing things up. The guys cleaned their equipment with what they call mineral spirits, which is nothing more than paint thinner (an aromatic hydrocarbon) in my front garden. I discovered this when I was trying to plant in the garden and discovered that the soil smelled of paint thinner. Given that we had the entire first floor refinished, who knows how much was dumped in the two spots in the garden, in which nothing now grows.

Please warn people to insist that their contractors dispose of toxic waste in an environmentally responsible manner. I dont know what the laws are, but will explore that and get back to you if I discover that these guys are in violation. I have children who play in and near the garden, two dogs who constantly have their noses to the ground and a cat. This stuff has likely migrated to the water table, particularly with all the rain weve had. Its been almost a month since they did the work and the smell is still quite strong. 8. A Day to Play Neighborhood Softball Tournament June 11. On June 11, 2011, GHCC will host north central Baltimores first ever neighborhood softball tournamentA Day to Playat Roland Park Country School from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join your neighbors for a day of fun, games, and great food! For details visit: http://www.greaterhomewood.org/adaytoplay/ 9. Local Green Jobs. The Department of Recreation and Parks is looking for local residents who are interested in helping to keep Herring Run Park well run and well maintained. This is a part-time seasonal position, between 20-24 hours per week, $10.00-$12.00 per hour. Weekend work is required. If interested please contact: Fran Spero, Division Chief Baltimore City Recreation & Parks Partnerships, Permits & Special Events 410-396-7012 Fran.Spero@baltimorecity.gov Friends of Mothers' Garden: A Park Steward position for Mothers' Garden in Clifton Park will pay $10.00 per hour for up to 75 hours of part-time work during May-July ($750). 10. Crime warning from Baltimore Police. A neighbor who was recently in contact with the Police Department about a car breakin received the following information from Deputy Major Richard Worley of BPD Northern District We have been getting hit with a lot of garage burglaries throughout the District where they are entering unlocked garages and stealing bikes, lawn equipment and anything else they can make a few bucks on. Please secure your premises and report all crime to the Police. 11. Household Hazardous Waste Dropoff - TODAY. The citys household hazardous waste dropoff event is at Poly from 9-2 today.
