Samsung J800 and M150 Unveiled
A mid-end slider and a low-end candybar
Alongside the L700 candybar, Samsung has also unveiled, during the CommunicAsia fair from Singapore, the J800 and M150 mobile phones. Like the L700, these are not high-end devices, but they will most probably be successful, thanks to the fact that they come with nice designs as well as with some features that can satisfy a pretty wide range of customers. Both phones come in metallic cases and seem to be very user-friendly. Samsung J800 is a slider that looks pretty elegant, both when closed and when its alphanumeric sliding keypad is revealed. It measures 99.5 x 47 x 15 millimeters and packs the following features: a TFT display of 2.2 inches and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, tri-band GSM connectivity plus 3G / UMTS, Google search integration, full HTML browser, email, RSS reader, document viewer, Bluetooth 2.0, Media player (music as well as video), a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, 18MB of internal memory and microSD card support. Starting this month, Samsung J800 should be available in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, for a retail price equivalent to $400 (or 260 Euros). The other new Samsung, M150 (or SGH-M150) is a candybar that doesn't have as many features as the J800 but it still seems to be a pretty good phone (for the entry-level class). As the J800, the M150 looks elegant, coming with large keys and a wisely-used combination of colors. The phone only measures 106.5 x 45.5 x 12.7 millimeters and its features include: a 1.8 inch TFT display with 65K colors and 128 x 160 pixels, dual-band GSM connectivity with GPRS, Music player, FM radio, WAP 2.0 browser, email, a VGA photo camera with video, Java games, speakerphone and 20MB of built-in memory. Details about the availability and pricing of M150 are not known for the moment.
