I was considering buying the 22" model, but t...  Many inputs, includes tuner and remote control, full 1080p, works well as both a TV and Monitor. I was considering buying the 22" model, but that was not sure because of it not being full 1080p HD and a tad too small to replace my TV. I purchased this on a great deal from an Internet computer retailer... I literally supplemented two years of change with about $40 to buy it.

The 24-inch Samsung SyncMaster T240HD is a HDTV disguised as a $499 monitor. Like an HDTV tuner, the Samsung SyncMaster T240HD display an excellent bargain for yourself. Three digital inputs, one component video input.

Pixel perfect sharp display which enhances my main hobbies of Flightsim and Photograhy. image quality awkward hidden controls, complicated colour calibration software.

The TV does everything I want. Great picture too. I did a lot of research before choosing the T240HD, and it paid off. Great picture, shocking sound. I bought this to use as a TV.

I love the wide screen and the HD colors are fabulous. After spending about a month reading reviews and researching this monitor (and others) I felt satisfied this one would be an excellent choice.

not that you need another review After owning the unit for about 3 months i have found an answer to some of my initial annoyances. Be careful what you order. What you buy one day and think your are ordering more the next week. Samsung T240HD Top notch product. Performance is right up there with monitors costing 3x, plus you have full tv funtion. This combo cannot be beat. Great Picture! This is my first HDTV and I must say I am impressed. Though the sound is tinny, as many have mentioned in other reviews.

Q: A: A: Q: A: How can I change the frequency? The frequency can be changed by reconfiguring the video card. Note that video card support can vary, depending on the version of the driver used. (Refer to the computer or the video card manual for details.) How can I adjusts the resolution? Windows XP: Set the resolution in the Control Panel Appearance and Themes Display Settings. A: Windows ME/2000: Set the resolution in the Control Panel Display Settings. * Contact the video card manufacturer for details. Q: A: How can I set the Power Saving function? Windows XP: Set the resolution in the Control Panel Appearance and Themes Display Screen Saver. Set the function in the BIOS-SETUP of the computer. (Refer to the Windows / Computer Manual). A: Windows ME/2000: Set the resolution at the Control Panel Display Screen Saver. Set the function in the BIOS-SETUP of the computer. (Refer to the Windows / Computer Manual). Q: A: How can I clean the outer case/LCD Panel? Disconnect the power cord and then clean the monitor with a soft cloth, using either a cleaning solution or plain water. Do not leave any detergent or scratches on the case. Do not let any water enter the monitor. Q: A: What are the benefits of digital broadcasting? Digital TV broadcasting generates less noise and provides clearer visuals and sound than analog TV broadcasting does. As services develop, you can also enjoy various information services because various kinds of data besides video and audio can be sent. For example, while watching a sports game, you can view various data on your favorite player or you can view all or selected screens which have been captured from different angles for a
Troubleshooting specific scene. In addition, you can retrive information on a previous story or drama or you can buy home shopping products such as an accessory currently on TV. Digital TV broadcasting allows you to easily access various information services in your home creating a more information-oriented home. Q: A: A: What is the difference between HDTV and SDTV? There are various types of digital TVs. The most widely known types of digital TV are HDTV and SDTV. They are classified according to the screen quality and the video specifications. A: HDTV (High Definition TV): High screen quality, very clear TV. SDTV (Standard Definition TV): Common standard digital TV.
An SDTV has an aspect ratio of 4:3 which is the same as that of an analog TV. SDTV has an aspect ratio of 16:9 which is similar to a cinema screen. This provides a much better screen quality than SDTV. It's like having a theater in your home. Digital TV broadcasting in our country is ultimately orientated towards HDTV. Can I watch HD broadcasting with all digital TVs? You can receive all digital broadcasts, whether they are SD or HD, using any digital TV. However, you cannot enjoy HD programs, which are the highest quality digital TV programs, using an SD digital TV. Especially, as SD broadcasting has an aspect ratio of 4:3, HD broadcasting has an aspect ratio of 16:9, similar to a cinema screen. Therefore, to enjoy the full benefits of digital TV, it is better to purchase an HD digital TV. (At present, all digital TVs from Samsung Electronics have the 16:9 wide aspect ratio.)

A: Q: A:

Q: A: A: Q: A: A: Q: A: A:
Can I watch digital TV broadcasting with an analog TV? No. The analog TV cannot interpret digital signals. Therefore, a digital TV is required to watch digital TV broadcasting. Can I use my present antenna to receive digital broadcasting? As for existing analog TV, digital TV is designed so that digital broadcasting signals are received via both indoor and outdoor antennas. If signal reception is very good in your environment, you can watch digital broadcasts with your existing indoor antenna. If not, it is better to install an outdoor UHF antenna. How do I connect an antenna for an apartment or tenement house? Consult the superintendent's office or broadcasting facility administrator for your apartment or tenement house to check whether UHF reception is available. Even if digital TV broadcasting is available in your area, if you cannot watch it because the superintendent's office or common broadcasting facility does not rebroadcast the signal, you have to install an indoor or outdoor antenna. Alternatively, your local cable broadcasting company provides a digital TV service, and you can subscribe to it.
Troubleshooting A: If a cable broadcasting company is sharing a common broadcasting facility for your apartment or tenement house, it has to adjust and send digital TV signals so that they are compatible to shared viewing which is the original purpose of the common broadcasting facility.

Ex) Airports, Transit Stations, Stock Markets, Banks, and Controlling Systems We recommend that you follow set up of your display system program as below: Display Information together with Logo or Moving image cycle.
Information Ex) Cycle : Display Information for 1 hour followed by a Display Logo or moving image for 1 minute. Change the Color Information periodically (Use 2 different colors). Ex) Rotate the Color Information with 2 colors every 30 minutes.
Avoid using a combination of characters and background color with large difference in luminance. Avoid using Grey colors, which can cause Image retention easily. Avoid: Colors with big difference in luminance (Black & White, Grey) Ex)
Recommended settings: Bright colors with little difference in luminance Change the characters color and background color every 30 minutes Ex)
Every 30 minutes, change the characters with movement. Ex)
The best way to protect your monitor from Image retention is to set your PC or System to operate a Screen Saver program when you are not using it.
Information Image retention may not occur when a LCD panel is operated under normal conditions. Normal conditions are defined as continuously changing video patterns. When the LCD panel is operated for a long time with a fixed pattern (-over 12 hours-), there may be slight difference in voltage between electrodes that work the liquid crystal (LC) in a pixel. The voltage difference between electrodes increases with time, forcing the liquid crystal to lean. When this occurs, the previous image may be seen when the pattern is changed. To prevent this, the accumulated voltage difference must be decreased.
Our LCD Monitor satisfies ISO13406-2 Pixel fault Class II
