June 2010 ---- Sun, summer, beaches, the sea on time for holiday season SANYO presents the new outdoor camcorder Xacti VPC-CA100. Waterproof1 up to a depth of three metres, this all-round talent records wonderfully colourful underwater scenes as high quality 14 megapixel photo or as brilliant Full HD video with 1080i. Thanks to the 12x double-range zoom, the user can easily choose between a wide angle- or tele-orientated zoom range. The cameras vertical design and ergonomic form allow it to be operated easily with one hand. Like a fish in water The Xacti CA100 can shoot up to 60 minutes of video under water, and the 12x double-range zoom provides a maximum of flexibility: It extends the optical zoom of the Dual Camera without any loss of quality, and offers two different zoom ranges. Depending on the requirements, the user can switch between a wide angle-oriented and tele-oriented field of view at the touch of a button, with consistently brilliant full HD resolution. Neptunes realm can thus be captured in all its glory, but thats not all, as individual details are also brought into sharp focus by the camera. The 2.7-inch TFT LCD can be rotated through 285 degrees and gives perfect overview from any position. The dual shot function makes it possible to shoot individual photos while recording a video, without the need to stop recording. The camera is extremely compact, and weighs a mere 242 grams, which means it can fit into the smallest travelling bag. Filming and photography made easy Thanks to the intuitive menu guidance system, the Dual Camera is extremely easy to use. Film and photo fans with less experience will benefit from a range of additional functions, such as the electronic image stabiliser or face chaser function, and various motif programs provide the user with optimum settings for the respective light conditions. High-speed sports scenes can also be captured effortlessly, thanks to the high-speed serial image feature with 7 frames per second, and the super-macro mode allows photos to be taken from as close as one centimetre from the subject. Film enjoyment in full HD The CA100 records the data on an SD, SDHC or SDXC card. Furthermore, the camera also supports Eye-Fi-SD cards, which means you can upload data to the computer without having to bother with any cables. Since film recordings are stored using the memory-efficient MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, one 32 GB memory card has enough room for up to four hours of full HD videos in 1080i. And thanks to the HDMI interface, films can be played back on HDTV sets without any loss in quality. Pricing, availability and warranty The recommended retail price (incl.
