EASY THREADING AND BOBBIN WINDING

The bobbin winder automatically disengages the needle for bobbin winding and the automatic bobbin stop prevents over-winding. With the Singer Exclusive SureFit Bobbin, it is easy to correctly insert the bobbin because it only goes in one way.
WORRY-FREE TENSION

PERFECT REPEATING BUTTONHOLES
SHOW: Buttonhole Sample
FABRIC: Woven Medium chino and stabilizer SELECT: Buttonhole Step 1, center needle position; and Stitch Width: wide USE: Buttonhole Foot SEW: Fold medium weight woven fabric in half with a piece of stabilizer between the layers. When lowering the buttonhole foot, position the fabric so that the needle is on the mark that is closest to you. This is the right side of the buttonhole and will sew away from you. Sew at a moderate speed until you reach the marking on the fabric indicating the bottom of the

buttonhole. SELECT: Buttonhole Step 2 (2 4) SEW: As you begin sewing again, the Inspiration 4205 will sew the back bartack. Sew just a few stitches to form the bartack. Stop with the needle in the left position. SELECT: Buttonhole Step 3 SEW: Stitch the left side of the buttonhole. It will sew towards you. Stop sewing at the mark at the end which is closest to you. SELECT: Buttonhole Step 4 (2 4) SEW: Sew a few stitches to form the top bar tack.
PERFECT FABRIC FEEDING
The special feeding system is shown in the kite-tail demonstration.
The specially designed feed dogs ensure that the fabric is picked up and supported from the front of the presser foot to the rear. This makes for much more accurate feeding. Sew the seam and overcast the edges at the same time. The Overedge stitch prevents raveling of the seam allowance on a woven fabric and creates a seam that will stretch on knit fabrics.
SERGING/ OVERCAST STITCHES
FABRIC: Stretch Medium sweatshirt fleece and ribbing SELECT: Overedge (shell) stitch; Stitch Width: wide; and Stitch Length: 1-2. USE: General Purpose Presser Foot SEW: Cut a small neckline in a piece of sweatshirt fleece (fold in half and cut a small curve). Fold ribbing in half lengthwise, and stretch to fit curve of fabric. Sew near fabric edge creating a neckline. SHOW: The Inspiration 4210 and 4212 offer more stretch stitches.

EASY BLIND HEM
FABRIC: Woven Medium wool SELECT: Blind Hem stitch; Stitch Length: 1.5 2.5; and Stitch Width: wide. USE: Blind Hem Foot SEW: Fold up a hem in fabric. Sew the hem with the fold riding along the guide of the foot, just catching the fold with the left swing of the needle as you stitch. Adjust the width on the stitch width dial as needed to catch just a thread from the fold.
You can "fine tune" the blind hem by adjusting the stitch width of the blind hem for different types of fabric.
MULTIPLE NEEDLE POSITIONS
FABRIC: Woven Medium chino SELECT: Center straight stitch USE: Multi-Purpose Presser Foot SEW: Fold fabric in half Keeping fold along the outside right edge of the presser foot, sew a seam. SELECT: Right needle straight stitch SEW: Continue sewing along the fold with the new needle position. SELECT: Left needle straight stitch SEW: Continue sewing along the fold with the new needle position.
Inserting cording, piping, or zippers is easy with three needle positions. Needle position can be changed for individual projects such as topstitching.
JAM-PROOF BOBBIN
FABRIC: Woven Medium calico SELECT: Straight stitch center needle position; Stitch Length: 2.5 USE: General Purpose Presser Foot SEW: Piece quilt strips together with one continuous seam, stitching on air between the fabric strips.
With the no-jam floating hook system, you can even sew off the fabric. The Inspiration 4205 allows easy strip piecing because of this feature. A wonderful feature for the quilter, home dec sewer, garment sewer everyone!
