Hong Kong, February 24, 2010 Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Limited today unveiled its latest 5.1-ch Blu-ray Home Theatre Systems BDV-E370 and BDV-E970W as well as Blu-ray Player BDP-S370. These home entertainment additions feature Sonys new unique Monolithic Design Concept - a seamless blend of high-quality design and a beautiful surface finish - that adds a stylish, minimalist presence in your living room. In addition to the stunning design, the Blu-ray Home Theatre Systems and Blu-ray Player are powered by Sonys new BRAVIA Internet Video function and latest cinematic technologies that will let customers enjoy the ultimate entertainment in their living rooms. Explore a Whole New World of Entertainment The new Blu-ray Home Theatre Systems and Blu-ray Player are equipped with USB Wi-Fi capability, providing an easy way to connect to the Internet with the BRAVIA Internet Video function so you can explore a wide selection of online content from the comfort of your own living room. The new Blu-ray Home Theater Systems and Blu-ray Player are also BD-Live compatible via firmware update, allowing you to download a variety of up-to-date content from the Internet. There is also a whole world of free, on-demand videos to explore from video-sharing websites such as YouTube, Dailymotion and Blip. Another benefit is that there is no need to connect your PC or watch movies on a cramped computer screen, you can now access the latest videos as they are updated real-time and stream full-screen content direct to your BRAVIA LCD TV. An Entertainment Database Browser, using technology from Gracenote, also allows you to browse details like actor and production information from a Blu-ray disc and access related content found on BRAVIA Internet Video. A Truly Immersive Entertainment Experience at the Heart of Your Living Room The Blu-ray Home Theatre System BDV-E970W is equipped with the advanced S-AIR (Sony Audio Interactive Radio Frequency), Sonys unique digital wireless transmission technology that brings you the "non-compressed" and no interference close-to-original digital sound. The new design on the S-AIR digital wireless set is a plug & play, simply to set up system that does not require a transmitter or receiver, ensuring a neat and clean layout. In addition to featuring x.v.Colour (xvYCC) technology, both models are also equipped with 24p true cinema for cinematic picture quality so as to let you see movies as the director intended. Both systems are also capable of upscaling your existing DVDs to near HD 1080p resolution through Sony's Precision Cinema HD Upscale technology. Superior picture quality is supplemented by stunning audio effects brought by Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, LPCM up to 7.1ch with Sonys Digital Cinema Sound, providing an immersive cinematic experience. The BDV-E370 and BDV-E970W are equipped with Sonys S-Master digital amplifier and deliver 850W and 1000W power output respectively. For the BDV-E970W, a real 7.1 set-up is also possible with the wireless upgrade kit WAHT-SBP2.
