Hong Kong, July 11, 2008 - Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Limited has expanded its wireless home theatre system family with a new addition - DAV-F500. This wireless 5.1-channel home theatre system integrates Sonys unique S-AIR (Sony Audio Interactive Radio Frequency) digital wireless transmission technology and S-Master full digital amplifier in an elegant package, making it a centerpiece in the living room. The DAV-F500 is packed with the latest technology to achieve the highest possible audio and video quality from a system of this kind. The audio power of 850W is delivered by the 32-bit SMaster digital amplification along with five slim line speakers and a subwoofer, creating amazing 5.1channel surround sound effects for the excitement of big movie soundtracks. The S-AIR technology reproduces audio signals wirelessly to rear surround speakers without compression or interfering with other signals. Sonys proprietary Digital Cinema Auto Calibration (DCAC) technology is added to allow for simple multi-channel surround sound setup with the use of an included microphone to automatically adjust speaker frequency, distance and level. The DAV-F500 epitomises Sonys new FIT design concept products can be wall-mounted to save space and fit any home dcor. Styled to match the shimmering Midnight Blue finish of the BRAVIA W400 series LCD TV, the systems sleek main unit features a black glass front panel with the similar look and feel. Incorporating a versatile slot-in disc player, the main unit can stand on a desk or shelf, or be mounted on the wall with the supplied wall-mount bracket, and
along with speakers and a subwoofer, allowing the system to deliver a powerful exciting, immersive 5.1 channel home cinema experience without the clutter of conventional set-ups. The DAV-F500 is capable of upscaling existing DVD discs to 1080p for the best picture quality when connected to the BRAVIA Full HD LCD TV (1080p) via an HDMI output. It also enables simple control from one remote control of both the DAV-F500 and a BRAVIA LCD TV with BRAVIA Sync. Music stored on USB memory devices, such as Sonys Micro Vault storage media or Walkman MP3 players, can be played back and recorded on CDs through the system with simple plug and play operation. Sonys Digital Media Port adds connectivity for music playback with various optional accessories including the optional cradle for iPod players (TDM-iP10), Network Walkman player audio cradle and Bluetooth adapter. Sonys Dialogue Enhancer (plus) is designed to make movies clear and easy to enjoy, even when you have to listen to at low volume settings. The Portable Audio Enhancer (plus) improves the clarity and depth of a connected music player by adding information to the audio signal that had been removed during compression. The sports mode allows users to enjoy true-to-life sound reproduction when watching sports programmes. DAV-F200 Sony also unveiled the latest 2.1-channel home theatre system, the DAV-F200, which is designed to be as simple to set-up as it is to use. With Sonys S-Force Front Surround technology and 32bit S-Master digital amplification, it offers a total of 405W to create amazing virtual surround effects from just two speakers and a subwoofer. Featuring a simple yet stylish design, the DAV-F200 brings superb virtual surround sound into the home without filling the room with speakers. Also created under the FIT concept, its sleek main unit looks the same as that of the DAV-F500 and can be used on its standard table stand or wall-mounted with an optional bracket. It contains a disc player to handle DVDs, CDs, and file formats including MP3, Windows Media Audio, DivX and JPEG. Theres also a radio tuner built-in, along with all the control and processing systems to deliver great surround sound.
