Sony Ericsson Hazel - poor reception
Rundawnposts since Jul 10, 2010
No, it's not about my network having poor reception, my network has fairly decent 3G coverage in my area as my Dad's BlackBerry Bold constantly gets 5 bars of 3G. I bought a Hazel, I love it but seems I've been getting rather poor reception. I tried switching to GSM only but I only get unstable reception. Is there a software update? Too bad the phone doesn't come with a USB cable.

Hi there, The software/firmware upgrade DID make the reception better. Last time I used to have 2 bar avg but this did not really affect the reception. I didn't get missed call or anything like that.
I guess the only thing that, if the reception is poor, then the radiotion will be higher.no???

try the upgarde.

I'm experiencing the same problem as well too.
Ever since I switched my phone to SE Hazel, my reception has been poor usually - it used to be good. I doubt it's my network because I switched SIM cards to another phone and it's getting good reception.
Generated by Jive SBS on 2011-06-09+01:00 1
I've looked through this problem over the internet and all I heard of was to update my Hazel's software. Thing is, there isn't any update since I got my phone on June 2010. Is there already a software update available elsewhere? I don't seem to be able to update anything in my region (Malaysia).
Please look into this matter, SE's Technical Team.

I had the same problem with the Elm although the latest update seems to have improved this but it's still not perfect. Although I do really think it's where the antenna is cos it's located at the bottom of the phone. Thus when held the reception drops but if it were a stronger antenna it should not do this as I have had Nokia phones with antennas in the bottom but reception was fine. The k750i had the same problem when first released this was fixed in an update

Even though you have the latest software version, running the update service via PC and/or using the "repair phone" option via PC suite, could still fix the problem.
