Just got a new Sony Ericsson w850i because I broke my old one.
I've set everything up but it's saying it need to reformat my memory card, but then fails to do so and I can't save anything to it (ie camera photos) or use the files already on it.
My memory card it a 8gb sony memory stick pro duo, however it isn't one of the blue ones that come with the phone it is a black magicgate one (that's all the information I have on it and I can't compare it to one of the ones you get with the phone as I don't have one).
The memory card worked completely fine with my other w850i and I really need to get it working by Saturday as I'm going away and this is my only mp3 player.

With the memory card plugged in to your phone connect the USB cable to your phone and select File Transfer. Then go to my computer and once the memory card pops up right click and format it and just do a quick format. Then take out the USB turn the phone on and see if it works.

when I plug my phone into my comp a box comes up checking for software etc but the phone switch on and off before file transfer so it fails. The phone/memory card doesn't pop up on my computer. I tried reformatting it via my adapter but still doesn't work in my phone =/

Discovered there is nothing up with the memory card, it is entirely the phone. My computer knows it is there, I've downloaded some software PC suite and media manager and the pc suite registers that it is plugged in but then I still can't transfer anything because the media manager says it isn't plugged in.
It doesn't appear in My Computer either.
