Xperia X10 mini pro Android 2.1:PC.

Hi All,

I tried upgrading my Xperia x10 mini pro but my PC freezes at point where update tries to install SEMC drivers. I have tried following things: -Disabled the Anti virus. -Inset USB cable to High power USB port. -Reinstalled PC companion software. It did not help.
I have seen one post where manually installing SEMC driver has helped. But I could not find the SEMC drivers at Sony Ericsson web site. I am using Windows XP SP3 32-bit.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try installing Sony Ericsson Update Service and then try and update with that.

Thank you for your response.I was able to update my phone from different computer not sure what was the problem with my PC. I was able to restore backup.

I love the new update!

I had exactly the same problem with my X10, using Windows XP SP3.
The issues given by my provider and Sony experts :
Disable anti-virus and firewall Format your Hard disk Buy Windows Vista or Seven Thanks !

But I fanally got it :

start your computer in safe mode with network services (Press F8 during boot) Run PC companion Plug your phone Follow the instructions And that's it !
In 20 minutes, all was done. But after, I needed 6 hours to restore my datas (do backups !), discover the new stuff, and do all the settings.
Let people know if it works for tou too, as a lot of people have the same problem in France.

Help: X10 mini pro performance turn.

I have just updated my X10 mini pro from Android 1.6 to 2.1. I have notice that my phone has turn to become really slow in performance. This has been very obvious whenever I'm playing my games. The touch screen is like not reacting to my touch. There is always a lag time of 5sec to 8 sec of insensitivity. I have tried to repair the software, reset to default factory setting and also reinstall the Android 2.1 to my phone but seem useless. Hopefully someone could help me on this. Really troubled by my phone.

In most cases, it's just the initial symptoms after an upgrade. Just let it 'run-in' for a day or so, you should see improvement after that. Also, remove battery, put it back after around a minute later, this helps too. Try not to enable any task killer (if your have one for the time being) at this stage. Good luck.

I have let my phone to do a run in for a few days (It's been a week). There is no improvement still. I also took your advise to remove the battery, seems like no improvement too.

I know there's a huge debate whether or not task killers help or not, I usually seem to have the same issue, after an update, repair, re-flash or just turn it off/on my phone gets really slow, if I open task killer I can see that most of my apps are running, things I don't use often and I don't want running unless I open them, So I just kill them all (after I selected some apps I don't want to be killed) and it works, I don't let task killer running in the background either, nor set it to kill apps automatically, only if I open/kill them.

A task killer is useful for killing badly coded apps that eat up CPU resources and battery life. A simple phone reboot should just work fine.

Hmmm.rebooting my phone also doesn't work either. I'm wondering is this really my software problem or is it hardware problem. But if is my hardware problem, it should have happened when I'm in android 1.6 version. But now the problem only appear after i upgraded my phone software.
Hope there are more help to this.

it doesn't hurt to download a Task killer try "Taskiller free" by AxDroid LLC and see if that does it.

The other option is to re-install 2.1 and that might solve your problems.
