Camera Adaptor

I n t ro d u ct io n

The SONY YS-W230 camera adaptor is designed for use with Sony SSC series video cameras as well as the AVC-D7 and DXC-107 video cameras. The SONY YS-W230 is used to transmit the video signal output by the cameras to monitors. The unit also provides power and an internal or external sync signal to the cameras. The SONY YS-W230 has four camera input connectors and eight video output connectors. You can connect up to four cameras and eight monitors to the unit.

Main Features

A single 75-ohm coaxial cable (not supplied) between the adaptor and the camera carries the video output signal, power, and sync signal. The unit has a built-in cable compensation circuit. This can switch the video signal compensation level to any of three levels, according to the length of the cable. The synchronization selector switch allows the use of an external sync signal. The unit is provided with input/output sync connectors. Hence, the YS-W230 can supply a sync signal to other YS-W230s. Thus, you can connect two or more YS-W230s together, up to a maximum of 50 units. All cameras connected to the YS-W230 are automatically synchronized with each other. Two video output connectors for each camera enable system flexibility.
