More than touring
Ride an FJR1300AS and youll soon understand why it has taken sports touring to a new level, with its powerful 1,298cc inline 4-cylinder engine, effortless handling and unforgettable ride quality. But it also has something more - the YCC-S (Yamaha Chip Controlled-Shift system), an electronic clutchless gear-shift system. With YCC-S, the rider can change gear with their foot or a thumb shifter, and doesnt need to operate the clutch at all. Combine this with adjustable windscreen, handlebars and seat, heated grips and a 25 litre fuel tank and youre ready to cover enormous distances in deluxe sports style.

Clutchless gear shift
As you pull out on to an open stretch of road and ease on to the throttle, one flick of your thumb shifts the FJR1300AS up a gear and youre away. The YCC-S (Yamaha Chip Controlled-Shift) clutchless electric gear shift can by operated by your foot or thumb, but either way it guarantees an easy ride on long journeys.
Powerful, 1,298cc, 4-cylinder engine
The FJR1300AS is powered by the same strong engine that moves the award-winning FJR1300A. The 1,298cc 4-cylinder engine unleashes massive performance - a huge plateau of easy-riding torque, and a velvet-smooth 143.4 PS top-end. Its all the power and reliability you need whether youre eating up the autobahn or taking on narrow lanes.
Fully adjustable comfort
On a long tour, you want to enjoy the ride. The FJR1300AS has a full range of quick, easy adjustments for tailoring the ergonomics to every ride. Fix the seat height and handlebar position to suit your mood. When the weather changes, flick a switch to alter the screen height, and if its a hot day, adjust the air-management system to cool down.
Adjustable suspension
Long tours can present you with all sorts of road surfaces. There could be immaculate tarmac, cobbled side streets, pot-holed lanes or dusty country tracks. If the road surface changes or youve just picked up your passenger, tune the remote-adjustable rear suspension to keep the handling totally sharp.
Sports handling
The FJR1300AS has all the storage and stability you need for cross-continent trips. But it also handles like a dream. The lightweight aluminium frame with fully adjustable suspension delivers sport handling, while the state-of-the-art Unified Braking System with ABS takes the pressure off and puts the fun back into longdistance tours.
