With supports to the high-speed DHT (Distributed Hash Tables) mode and TCP/UDP tracker protocols, the NSA221 overcomes the drawbacks of slow and disrupted downloading. With the link capture* support, the files can be downloaded even when the PC is off. The NSA221 provides a rich user experience with an integrated media player. Through a user-friendly interface it is easy to play videos, music and photos slide shows directly from the device. Moreover it is possible to create a music playlist and play it as background music when viewing photo slide shows. The alphabetical search bar provides a convenient way to search all the files stored on the media server helping the user to find the right file amongst the thousands of songs, photos and videos that are stored.

Automatic Media File Classification
The NSA221's zPilot is an automatic file classification function that enables the user to easily store and manage media files by a simple drag-and-drop action. By dragging one or more files/folders to the zPilot shortcut on the desktop, the files are identified and delivered automatically to the music, photo, video or other designated folders on the NSA221.
High Definition Multimedia Center
ZyXELs NSA221 supports the DLNA 1.5 standard enabling it to act as central hub for all multimedia data such as videos, music and photos. By supporting DLNA users can access data on the NSA221 with any other DLNA client devices. TV's and Blu-ray Players Any DLNA capable LCD TV and/or Blu Ray Player in the same network can access the NSA221 and play stored HD Videos, MP3 music and photos. Changing DVDs, CDs or annoying copying of the files from your PC is history.
Gaming Consoles Streaming content to a gaming console like the PS3 or Xbox 360 is also supported by the NSA221. Making the NSA221 work as a centralised data center is as easy as 1, 2, 3. The WLAN technology is recommended to be used if the user wants to access NSA's data with notebooks, PCs and / or mobile devices. Connecting Devices to the NSA221 with an Ethernet Cable This connection type offers high and stable speed (up to 1000 Mbps) and is very simple to install. For multiple connections home switches can be used. It also offers high security and is one of the most cost effective solutions. It is the best infrastructure for high bandwidth demand applications like Full HD video streaming to your Media Player, Blu-ray Player or your TV. Connecting Users/Multimedia Devices to the NSA221 with Powerline Modern Powerline adapters offer almost the same speed as traditional Ethernet cabling of up to 200 Mbps and can even be used for high bandwidth streaming of HD videos. It is an optimum solution if you need high bandwidth access without already having a classical Ethernet infrastructure in your home.
