All of the systems are capable of measuring voltage and resistance on each of the zones, as well as carrying out communication level diagnostics on keypads and RIOs.

KeyProx
A combined keypad and proximity card-reader, this device offers the option of setting/unsetting the system either by entering in a PIN or by presenting a Proximity ID card to the base of the unit. Stylish design Tactile, rubber buttons Back-lit display and buttons Set/unset system with code and/or proximity ID card Easy programming of new cards onto the system Accepts most popular card types Choice of reader protocol (ASK/HID) Provides full system control Tamper protection Connected directly to the Galaxy panel (via direct cable) but can be mounted up to 1000m from the control panel Extra security can be achieved via an optional two stage setting operation. This can be: 1) CODE + 2) CARD or 1) CARD + 2) CARD or 1) CODE + 2) CODE The use of the KeyProx and MAX3 allows completion of unsetting a system using portable equipment (card or fob) in compliance with the British Standard DD243:2002.

Ancillaries

The Galaxy 4 way relay interface is used with RIOs to connect the 12V Darlington Driver outputs to clean relay signals. This is particularly useful to trigger response events on a CCTV System or other monitoring type package. The Galaxy Doorguard unit provides an Exitguard facility when used with Galaxy 60/500 or 512. Exitguard enables a fire exit door to be monitored locally, even when the alarm is unset. Anyone opening the fire exit door will cause the Doorguard Buzzer to sound. Operation of the on board keyswitch isolates the door and allows authorised access/egress without an alarm being raised.

A small, stylish combined proximity ID card reader and door control module that can operate in either on-line mode with the Galaxy or in stand-alone mode. The Galaxy system can be set and unset using proximity ID cards presented to the MAX3 Allows regulation of access to individual doors within a system or as a stand-alone unit In conjunction with a Galaxy control panel, the MAX3 can manage access for up to 1000 users (system dependant) If used in stand-alone mode, this intelligent unit can manage access for up to 1000 users A compact unit with sophisticated styling, MAX3 is completely sealed to permit both indoor and outdoor use Tamper protected On a large Galaxy security system - 512 and 504 zones - up to 32 readers can be installed. The panel event log will record up to 1000 card activations Connected directly to the Galaxy panel (via direct cable) but can be mounted up to 1000m from the control panel Range of mounting options and accessories available
Remote input output interfaces are linked with the main control panel via a 4 wire communication bus. Field devices are wired into the inputs or outputs and are then controlled from the panel on a multiplex basis. Each RIO has eight individually identifiable inputs and 4 controllable outputs, together with a separate tamper indication from each RIO box. Both the inputs and outputs are fully programmable. The Smart PSU integrates a three amp power supply with an eight zone RIO. The SPSU can be used in place of the RIO to overcome power problems that may arise when connecting distant detection devices to the panel. Using an SPSU (rather than a RIO with external power supply), will allow the battery levels and battery capacity to be monitored at the panel.

Door Guard Interface

A module which is used to provide protection to doors requiring immediate local alarm warning. The Door Guard Interface can be configured for both stand-alone use (connected to a power supply only) or as an integrated unit with the Galaxy security system providing details of door status at the control panel Door access requires a key, which temporarily suspends the door monitoring Unauthorised access to a protected area results in a local, audible warning as well as an indication at the Galaxy panel

The LQ 300 printer is designed as a low cost business printer ideally suited for use with the Galaxy range of Control Panels (use 6521) The printer interface allows either real time printing of all events or print, on request, of items held in the log. The printer interface will operate in conjunction with any standard serial printer.
RS232 Communication Module
The RS232 Communication module has three distinct operating modes. It can operate as either a printer interface, a memory buffer or a direct connection interface to a PC package. As a printer interface, the unit converts the system RS485 to standard printer format RS232 for connection to any serial printer. As a memory buffer, the unit can be used to download the programming parameters of a panel for temporary storage. The information can later be uploaded either to a PC package or another panel. This functionality is particularly useful when upgrading systems. In direct connect mode the unit allows the control panel to be connected directly to a PC running Galaxy Gold and/or alarm monitoring software. This enables local monitoring and control of the control panels on a PC that may be located in the Guard house for instance.
