| I purchased the Epson V700 two years ago in order to transform my growing film archive into digital images. I purchased this scanner to replace an Epson Expression 1600 scanner with transparency adapter. That scanner served me 6 years. | |

| I get good scans of my B & W negatives. The software is easy to use. However I have used the Epson scanners for many years. Easy Setup". I had a similar problem with the line on the right side. In black and white, it never showed, but color it did. | |

Replacing the Document Mat
Replace the document mat by sliding it into the notches in the scanner cover. Make sure the white surface faces outwards.
Removing Dust and Scratch Marks From Film or Slides
Using the Dust Removal feature in EPSON Scans Full Auto or Professional Mode, you can virtually clean the dust marks from film or slides as you scan them.
Your scanner and its EPSON Scan software are equipped with the Digital ICE and Digital ICE Lite features that remove stubborn dust or scratch marks from color film or slides.
DIGITAL ICE will not harm image details while Dust Removal may degrade the image. However, it takes longer to scan using DIGITAL ICE.
Scanning and Restoring Photos
Using the Color Restoration feature in EPSON Scan, you can transform old, faded, or badly exposed photos into ones with true-to-life color. You can restore printed photos, negative film, or slides automatically as you scan them. You can use Color Restoration in EPSON Scans Full Auto, Home, or Professional Mode. For detailed steps, see the on-screen Users Guide.
For detailed steps on using these features, see the on-screen Users Guide.
Reading the Scanner Light
If an error occurs, the scanner stops operating and the scanner light flashes red. This indicates one of the following problems: The scanner is not connected to your computer properly or your software is not fully installed. See the Start Here sheet that came with your scanner for instructions on installing the scanner software and connecting the scanner to your computer. The scanner and/or the transparency unit transportation lock is locked. Slide the lock to the unlock position. The scanner cover cable is not connected to the scanners OPTION port. Connect the cable to the port. After trying these solutions, turn off the scanner using its power button, then turn it back on.
Full Auto Mode
If the scanner light is still flashing: The scanner may be malfunctioning. The scanner lamp may need to be replaced. The connected optional equipment may be malfunctioning. Contact Epson. See the on-screen Users Guide for details.

Transporting the Scanner
Before transporting the scanner for a long distance or storing it for an extended period of time, you need to lock the scanners carriage and transparency unit to prevent damage. 1. Plug in the scanner, turn on the scanner using its power button, and wait until the carriage moves to the home position (near the cover hinge). While the scanner light is green, turn off the scanner using its power button. 2. Open the scanner cover and slide the transparency unit transportation lock to the locked position. Then close the scanner cover.
5. On the back of the scanner, slide the transportation lock to the locked position to secure the scanner carriage.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EPSON INTRODUCES GROUNDBREAKING PHOTO STUDIO FLATBED SCANNERS WITH 6400 DPI RESOLUTION, PLUS FLUID MOUNT CAPABILITIES ON THE HIGHER-END MODEL Epson Perfection V700 Photo and Epson Perfection V750-M Pro Scanners include innovative 6400 dpi optical resolution and a Dual Lens System, along with a fluid mount accessory for the Pro model LONG BEACH, Calif., Feb. 22, 2006 The Epson Perfection V700 Photo and Epson Perfection V750-M Pro scanners are making their debut as the first scanners for photo studio applications that offer capabilities typically found in high-end commercial lab scanners, at a much more affordable price. These two scanners were created with the professional and amateur photographer in mind and provide groundbreaking resolution that is achieved using a new Dual Lens System. In addition, a new fluid mount accessory (offered on the Pro model), allows photographers to perform wet scans on a flatbed scanner, which is especially valuable for enhanced scratch removal and grain reduction from black and white film. The Epson Perfection V700 Photo and Epson Perfection V750-M Pro both incorporate the Epson Dual Lens System, which is a new double lens scanning system that enables super resolution (6400 dpi) scanning of 35mm, 2 , and 4x 5 medium format film. High resolution (4800 dpi) scanning is also available for transparency and reflective scanning. Depending on the resolution selected, the lens carriage will switch and the appropriate lens will be set in place. By offering the combination of 6400 dpi on a photo studio flatbed scanner and an innovative optical system, the Epson Perfection V700 Photo and Epson Perfection V750-M Pro models are ideal for photographers, graphic designers and other professionals who rely on the images they produce to be exceptiona l, said Philip Amato, product manager, image capture products, Epson. In addition to the fluid mount accessory, the Epson Perfection V-750M Pro also features new High Pass Optics that further optimize image quality by using anti-reflective coatings on the CCD lens and a new high reflection mirror. Another valuable time- and cost-saving feature offered with both scanners is Digital ICE Technologies, a powerful tool for automatic removal of scratches and dust from film, and many surface defects from reflective prints. Both scanner models can achieve an optical density (Dmax) of 4.0, allowing for high dynamic range imaging and the ability to capture fine shadow details. They also feature HiSpeed USB 2.0 and FireWire connectivity for fast data transmission. More about the Epson Perfection V750-M Pro The Epson Perfection V750-M Pro is the flagship scanner at the top of the Epson Perfection line with up to 6400 dpi optical resolution and its unique fluid mount accessory.
