This new version will be distributed in three customized editions to meet the ever-growing and changing demands of digital and traditional camera users. Photo Express 4.0 My Custom Edition Photo Express 4.0 My Custom Edition is designed for digital camera users who are familiar with using the Web yet need an elementary approach to photo editing. My Custom Edition starts with the main engine of Photo Express 4.0 for basic photo acquisition, browsing, editing and sharing functions. Users can download the engine for only $2.95. After the user is familiar with the basics of photo editing, they can choose to buy various plug-ins for $9.95 to $14.95. Called My Plug-Ins, these additions can be installed at anytime into the main engine of Photo Express 4.0. My Plug-In choices are Printing, Special F/X, Animation, Template, Photo Decoration, Text F/X, Calendar, Web Studio, or Painting. The user can purchase and download each addition from Uleads Web site to create a fully customizable photo editor based on usage patterns or desired imaging effects.
Photo Express 4.0 My Scrapbook Edition Photo Express 4.0 My Scrapbook Edition is focused on the scrapbook market, a $500 million a year industry based on traditional camera usage, according to the Hobby Industry Association. It includes the main engine of Photo Express 4.0 as well as an additional plug-in that lets users output a complete layout for 12x12 scrapbook pages, a common page format for this market. My Scrapbook Edition also includes scrapbook page templates not found in the other editions of Photo Express 4.0. These pages are customizable and can be printed as personalized background paper, title pages or clipart. Users can even output entire scrapbook pages complete with cropped, edited photos. Pricing and Availability Both the Ulead Photo Express 4.0 Digital Studio Edition and My Scrapbook Edition will be available in retail and online stores in February 2001. The Digital Studio Edition has an estimated street price of $49.95, while My Scrapbook Edition sells for $29.95. Owners of My Scrapbook Editions or previous versions of Photo Express may upgrade to the Digital Studio Edition for $29.95. The new Create menu is available in both Browse and Edit modes for easy access and includes options to make Cards, Photo Albums, Calendars, Slideshows, Wallpaper, Mobile Images, Mobile Animations, four types of Web projects and three exciting Animated GIF projects.

Photo Albums

Multi-page Photo Albums are the perfect way to show off sets of photos. Choose from a variety of themes in landscape, portrait or scrapbook orientation. Present your photos in groups of one to four photos per page. Complete your Photo Album with text, props, a personal signature and more! Your photos will love their new home.

Even More Projects

Photo Express 6 gives you even more fun projects for your photos*. Use your photos to create Mobile Images, Mobile Animations, Web Pages and Animated GIFs. Mobile Images let you convert your photos to show on your phone or mobile device. Get just the right size photo in the format your phone needs! Mobile Animations let you add fun animated objects to photos to create animations to use on your phone or other mobile devices. Its easy and fast. Four different Web projects are available. Web Pages feature a single photo and background music, Web Albums for multiple photos, Web Cards combining photos, video and audio and Web Shows that presenting slideshows with audio. Filmstrip Browse Mode

New Filmstrip browse mode joins Thumbnail and List modes as a third way to browse photos on your computer. In Filmstrip mode, photos in the current folder appear as thumbnails at the bottom of the screen with the selected photo displayed in the workspace. Quickly step through your shots to find just the right one.

Full Screen Browse Mode

See your photos full screen. Its easy to get a good look at your photos or create instant slideshows to show off your pictures.

MPEG-2 Playback

Photo Express lets you browse and enjoy more than just photos. In Thumbnail and List browse modes you can view and play back audio and video files using the built-in media player. Now Photo Express 6 lets you play high quality MPEG-2 video.

Larger Filmstrip

The filmstrip at the bottom of the screen shows all the photos you have open for editing or fun photo projects. Now the filmstrip shows larger thumbnails so its easier to find the photo you want. For even more editing space, you can now show and hide the filmstrip at the touch of a button.

Customizable Skins

The Change Skin command, found in the Global Task bar, now lets you directly choose an image on your computer to use as the background for your workspace.

Two-sided Printing

When you select multiple image files in Browse mode or when printing Photo Albums, you now have the option to print on both sides of the page with printers that support duplex printing.
