Futura Model CE-150
Features and Benefits
General Features:
New: Three Stay-Bright LED Lights Three lights over the sewing area address a feature asked for by consumers - better lighting! With lights on each side of the needle area as well as one light over the large surface to the right of the needle, it is easier to see your work. An illuminated sewing area makes all your sewing more precise. Sewing is also more pleasurable because the well lighted sewing area reduces eye-stain often caused by working in low lighting. Effortless threading of the machine, including automatic threading of the eye of the needle! This system ensures stable stitch quality, whatever the type of fabric being used. This mechanism incorporates rotating hook that ensures smooth, quiet, jam-proof sewing. The bobbin loads from the top so it is easy to insert the bobbin. The clear cover makes it effortless to monitor the bobbin thread supply. The Optimum Power Control provides precise piercing power when sewing multiple layers or dense fabric. The piercing power is the same regardless of sewing speed. A conveniently located lever will lower the feed dogs for free-motion embroidery, machine embroidery, monograms and attaching buttons. There are two heights to the presser foot lifter. The second height offers a more clearance which is needed when placing multiple layers or bulky fabrics under the presser foot. In addition to the machines horizontal thread delivery, a second vertical spool holder is provided at the back of the machine, specially designed for many of todays threads. Because the machine is permanently lubricated, there is no need to oil the machine, and no oil gets on fabric. Audible warning messages alert the sewer, ensuring trouble-free sewing. The internal skeleton of the sewing machine. This rigid support holds all the mechanisms in perfect alignment for perfect, skip-free sewing.

The machines accessories are stored in the Removable Extension table. The covers for the accessory compartments have been redesigned as hinged covers, rather than removable lids. The covers are more secure and wont be misplaced. Futura has a 25 year limited warranty, including 5 years on electronic components and 1 year on adjustments. More sewers own SINGER sewing machines than all other brands combined.* (* Source: Market Facts, March 2002)

Sewing Machine Features:
Electronic Sewing Machine Sewing machine has push button stitch selection. This means that the optimal settings for length and width are automatically set when choosing a stitch. They can be overridden to personalize length and width choice. A large variety of stitches for construction, decorative sewing, heirloom sewing and quilting always ensures the perfect stitch for every project. Specially designed stitches that add strength and flexibility to seams, especially useful when sewing on knitwear. Quickly piece projects together. Create a hand-sewn quilted look with this unique stitch. Pin Stitch, Blanket Stitch, and Entredeux are a few of the popular heirloom stitches available. Most stitches can be set for a maximum width of 7mm. When sewing decorative stitches or satin stitches, the wide stitches are bolder and more pronounced. Choose from 2 different one-step buttonholes. Buttonhole sewing is a one-step simple process that provides reliable results because the sides of the buttonhole sew the same direction to prevent gaps in stitching or fabric distortion. This is a SINGER developed system that sandwiches fabric between a lower plate and the foot, to ensure perfect buttonholes on multiple layers of fabric. Effectively, this is like a mini-embroidery hoop in which the machine feeds the attachment, rather than the fabric. It makes creating buttonholes possible in places that conventional buttonhole devices cannot easily reach. Select whether the needle is in the up or down position when the machine stops. It is beneficial to have the needle stop in the down position when appliquing, quilting or pivoting fabric. When removing fabric or picking the bobbin thread up, program the needle to raise to the highest position.

TNT REPAIR SINGER FUTURA 900/920 Creative Touch 1030/1036 Machines Panel Removal Guide
This guide will also apply to the 900, 925, 935, 1030, 1036, 1411, 1425 Athena Class 1200, 2000, 2005 and Touch Tronics 2001, 2010, series machines. Or basically any model built on the Futura type of frame design. I believe Ive covered most of the models, but may have missed some.
Basic Tool Requirements: Screwdriver small blade Screwdriver short handled type Screwdriver Phillips type #2 Screwdriver Medium Flat blade type Allen Wrench 3/32 Allen Wrench 5/64 Flat bar stock that has a true square flat edge. Or the 900/920 gauge, which also helps adjust feed dog height. At least 1/16th thick, and at least 2 inches in length. Basically all you need is something with a true straight flat edge that will fit between the thumbnut screw for the presser foot, and the presser bar guide. Now if the machine has really been tampered with, the presser bar guide could be out of adjustment, but general rule of thumb, it should be ok. The screw that holds it in place is buried behind the buttonholer lever, and not that easy to reach.
Preparing The Machine: (Note: Ensure machine is set to straight stitch, required for timing hook to needle) Open the top cover to expose the pattern, and stitch width, needle position dials, (Fig 1). Ensure the machine is set for straight stitching, and center needle position Set the presser bar pressure dial to Darn (Fig 1, item a) Remove the pattern selector dial by pulling it straight upward, as indicated by the Red Arrow, (Fig 1) Remove the pattern selector-unlocking dial, reference (Fig 2), by using a small bladed screwdriver, and very gently relieving the pressure lock tab away from the dial. The dial will then spin counter clockwise some, and lift up and off the locking mechanism Remove the top cover screws (3 qty), indicated by the blue circles Remove the side cover screw (Fig 3) (Note, some models may be equipped with a pinch screw here - Fig 3a) Remove the side cover by sliding it off, gently pull is straight off, as part does engage the top left cover screw Remove the top, by lifting from the back first, and gently lifting upwards at an angle towards you as you face the machine.
Fig 2 Fig 3a Back of machine
Once the top and side cover are removed, lay the machine on its back, Fig 4, and remove the pan screws. Indicated by the blue circles
Once you have the top covers, and bottom pan off, we need to remove the front panel. Fig 1, black arrow.
Cover Removal Steps: 1. Remove the 2 screws that hold the front panel on, Fig 2 2. Remove the light lens cover, Fig 3. Work the lens cover in a downward motion, it should slid right off, but if necessary, loosen the screw holding the lens cover to the socket 3. Remove the hand wheel by removing the Philips screw holding it to the gear/belt drive unit. Fig 4. The hand wheel should slide off with little to o resistance. 4. Remove the Pattern Panel, Fig 1, Yellow Arrow
Fig 2 Fig 3
Remove the stitch length indicator dial, Fig 5. The dial just lifts straight off the machine Remove the pattern indicators light shield, Fig 6. Youll find it easiest to lift the shield upwards on the left side, move it backwards over the frame rest, and then angle it with the left side downward. The shield will exit the machine mainly from the right side when angled correctly
Fig 6 Fig 5
Cover Removal Steps: (continued) 7. To remove the front cover, position it as shown in Fig 7. Work the right side upwards, while positioning the left side downwards to clear the light socket. Itll help to push the stitch lever down, as you would when sewing in reverse (or back tack), and then work the front cover off the machine.
