| WOW! Excellent product:easy setup, very bright, and the 19 inch screen gives you a 16 inch wide view. Run two programs side-by-side. AL1913W -- a b!+CH to configure for *niX but still a Great Value! I bought this monitor because it exactly met my specifications for use. | |

2.6 Plug and Play u u u The new VESA Plug and Play function is used which eliminates the complicated and time-consuming installation process. You can use the Plug and Play system without encountering usual installation problems. Your computer system can easily identify and automatically adjust the monitor. The LCD Monitor uses Display Data Channel (DDC) to send Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) to the computer system, so the computer system can be set to monitor auto adjust.
2.7 Power Saver u u Power control system, also called (Power Saver), is installed inside the LCD Monitor. If the monitor has not been used for a certain period of time, the system will turn the monitor to low voltage mode to save power. Slight moving or any click will return to the original image. The VGA card inside the computer handles Power Saver. You can use computer software to set the function. The LCD Monitor is compatible with EPA ENERGY STAR and N TEK if used with a VESA DPMS computer. To save power, turn off the power of the LCD monitor when not in use.

FIELD SERVICE BULLETIN
ACER CLASSIFIED
ACER INTERNAL DATA
Property of ACER ONLY
DATE: 10/19/05
NUMBER: mn_017
SUBJECT: Upgrade the inverter any time the monitor is sent in for service (silent service). AFFECTS: AL1913W (ET.L4309.005) manufacturing date code 522, 524, and 526. ISSUE: An issue existed with the AL1913W monitor (see FSB mn_016). Any time an affected monitor is sent in for service, it must be verified to have an upgraded inverter before returning to the customer or stock. SOLUTION: Approx 3000 of the possibly affected system have been reworked by the vendor. A small blue or black dot was put on one of the high voltage connectors on the reworked boards. In the picture below it is on the middle connector. AL1913 monitors with these inverters have already been upgraded.
If the inverter does not have dot on one of the connectors, replace the inverter with the appropriate service spare from stock.
ACTION REQUIRED: Inspect all the affected monitors to confirm the inverter has been upgraded before returning product to the customer or stock. Service recommends, that if the inverter has been replaced, the tech should apply a small blue or black dot (with a permanent marker) to the the serial number label of the monitor and the box (if available). Note: the manufacturer did not add the dot to the serial number label on the 3000 reworked monitors. However, Service Engineering recommends that the repair tech adds the small ink dot to the serial number labels.
