An ML350 G5 Storage Server is a fast and easy way to add file storage to your small, medium, and remote office environment. Its Microsoft Windows-powered operating system is pre-installed and internal storage is pre-configured, so you're up and serving files in minutes. It supports multiple file sharing protocols, so you can consolidate and make a single centralized platform to manage and protect, or you can create a scalable disk-based backup/replication target. And with the optional Microsoft iSCSI Software Target, you can upgrade to host block-based storage for Exchange, SQL or other applications. Once your solution is installed, you'll find that you spend less time and effort on file management and maintenance. You can manage and troubleshoot from almost anywhere with either remote desktop or Integrated Lights-out 2. Since it's running Windows, it integrates seamlessly into your Active Directory and DFS environments, runs your favorite antivirus or backup applications, and has a familiar management look and feel. And don't forget that it's a print server, too. The ML350 G5 Storage Server is built on industry standards and includes features that protect and optimize your investment. Performance is powered by a dual-core Intel Xeon processor, and redundant components like fans and power supplies are standard. It also includes intelligent storage-specific tools and features like Indexed Search and Single-instance Storage (SIS), which de-duplicates file storage and helps save disk space. There are four capacity points and the flexibility to support either SATA or SAS hard drives; SATA-based models are available with 960Gb, 1.5TB or 3TB of raw capacity and the SAS model is available with 1.8TB of raw capacity.

Memory
Memory interleaving is required when more than one DIMM is installed. For interleaving, DIMMs must be configured in identical pairs. The system will not boot properly if multiple DIMMs of varying density or type are installed in the system.
