System Hardware Interrupts
The BIOS and operating system handle hardware interrupts dynamically. Windows 2000 and Windows XP can change the interrupt settings when you add or remove devices. You can use Device Manager to gather information about a particular interrupt. See your operating system documentation for more information.

Memory Loading Order

DDR SDRAM must be loaded as matched pairs when more than one DIMM is installed. For example, if you place a memory module of 512 MB in one slot of Memory module pair 1, you must also insert a 512 MB module in the second slot of the pair. Load modules in matched pairs: Memory module pair 1: Slots 1 & 2 Memory module pair 2: Slots 3 & 4 Optical drive(s)

Hard Drive Loading Order

System supports up to 5 SCSI hard disk drives or up to 2 IDE hard disk drives. Note: The drive rails are not screwed on to the drive. Do not hold the drive by the rails when it is not installed in a drive bay or you may drop and damage the drive. Note: For any HP workstation, if you intend to boot from a bootable PCI device that you are installing (for example, Network adaptor, SCSI), ensure that OPTION ROM loading/scanning for the PCI slot used is enabled. To do this, use the BIOS Setup Utility of the HP workstation that you are installing the PCI device into. Failure to enable the OPTION ROM loading/scanning for the slot used will prevent the system from using that device as a bootable PCI device. For the HP workstation xw5000, HP also recommends you limit the number of enabled bootable devices in PCI slots 1-4, if you have an enabled bootable device in PCI slot 5. By doing so, you will help conserve the OPTION ROM and ensure that the device in PCI slot 5 can be booted from. See the Technical Reference Guide for detailed instructions on hard drive loading orders.
