Rugged and reliable fun.
Driven by an 80cc 2-stroke engine, the PW80 is one of the most rugged and reliable childrens fun bikes. For ease of use, this good-looking lightweight comes with a rider-friendly 3-speed semi-automatic transmission; this allows new riders to develop their gear-changing skills without having to worry about a handlebarmounted clutch lever. Weighing in at just 61 kg, and with a low seat height of only 635 mm, this goodlooking off-roader is easy to handle. And with its long-travel suspension and tough plastic motocross-style bodywork, the Yamaha PW80 is a great performer thats designed to ensure hours of family fun!
User-friendly 3-speed semi-automatic transmission Rugged and reliable 80cc 2-stroke engine Light and strong polypropylene bodywork Low weight of only 61 kg makes for easy handling Separate 2-stroke oil tank for ease of use Long-travel front and rear suspension 3-speed semi-automatic gearbox
A step towards a bigger bike.
Yamaha started the whole kids bike phenomenon with the PW50, which was an instant success. To cater for older kids graduating from the smaller 50 - as well as for those who are new to two wheels - Yamaha offer the rugged and reliable PW80. With a 3-speed semi-automatic gearbox, this mid-sized mini-bike has no clutch lever to worry about, making riding even more fun. Just like our bigger YZ race bikes, the PW80 features lightweight polypropylene bodywork finished in our famous Racing Blue colours. And with spoked wheels, long-travel suspension and a high level exhaust, this quality kids bike is ready for hour-upon-hour of family fun.
Easy-to-maintain 80cc 2-stroke engine
The PW80s responsive 2-stroke engine is designed to please both riders and their parents. Its compact and lightweight design keeps overall bike weight down to just 61 kg for easy handling - and features like the easily-accessible spark plug and side-mounted carburettor mean that routine maintenance really is kids play.
Strong backbone frame & long-travel suspension
Manufactured from high tensile steel, the backbone frame design offers high levels of strength combined with low weight for agile handling. And with 110 mm travel at the front, and 95 mm at the rear, the sturdy suspension systems are designed to help soak up the bumps and give a comfortable ride.
3-speed semi-automatic gearbox
One of the key features on the PW80 is its semiautomatic transmission, which means that theres no clutch lever for riders to worry about. The three gear ratios are selected by the left foot, allowing the rider to benefit fully from the smooth and responsive performance of the 80cc 2-stroke engine.
High-level exhaust system
For optimum performance together with low weight and added rider comfort, the PW80 is equipped with a lightweight high-level exhaust system. By being routed close to the engine and chassis, this design offers good ground clearance of 185 mm, and is tucked well away from the riders leg.
Lightweight polypropylene bodywork
The Racing Blue bodywork on the PW80 has been inspired by the designs first used on our YZ MX race bikes. The fenders, fuel tank, air scoops and side panels are all made from a very strong and remarkably light polypropylene material which is designed to look good and withstand the rough and tumble of dirt riding.
14 inch front and 12 inch rear wheels
To handle bumpy off road terrain the PW80 is equipped with a 14 inch front wheel and 12 inch rear wheel featuring heavy-duty spokes and strong steel rims. Together with its sturdy long-travel suspension and chunky off-road tyres, the PW80 is ready to play in the dirt.

Name: James Rossi #917

I began by riding my first bike a Yamaha PW80 at the age of 6. We lived in rural Pennsylvania at the time and could ride directly from our house, so it was quite often. Once I mastered the skills necessary on the PW80 I switched to a Honda CRF. Didn't take me long after that to realize a quad was what I wanted. All my friends rode them, they were everywhere, and pretty much, my Dad and I were the sole MX riders. Along came a blaster. I had a neighbor who did his own race work on banshee's and I picked a Yamaha Blaster up from him. Ran great, but just wasn't enough, even from the beginning, so we picked up a brand new Suzuki Z400 soon after acquiring the blaster. I rode this for a time until we moved from PA to CA and eventually raced the quad at Ukiah Speedway MX. My first race experience in CA. I had raced it previously in PA but not much. I ended up 6th in points that year in Adult quads. I was 15. After blowing that motor up, we purchased a new Suzuki LTR450, and this quad and another LTR were the ones I have been racing since. I have done all my own work so far, so I am knowledgeable and capable of keeping my quads running and on the track. So, pretty much, I have been riding since the age of 6, and racing since the age of 14. I intend to fully stay committed to my race program.

As a racer in the PRO/PRO-PRODUCTION class, I would represent your product to the fullest, both on the track and off. Not only would I be using your product, I would consistently promote and endorse your product to all I come in contact with. With my continued running in the PRO/PROPRODUCTION class, I intend to do all ITP QUADCROSS and Select WORCS races this upcoming season, along with as many local races as time allows. So you can be assured that your product would get full exposure in the PRO/PRO-PRODUCTION class. My continued training and practice schedules that I am currently using will not only keep me physically and mentally fit, but also move me towards the front of the pack. With your help and sponsorship, I am sure we can achieve these goals. Thanks for the consideration for sponsorship and reviewing my racerpage. 2009 Nor-CalAtv.com/RacerPages/JamesRossi917
