(S-1EX, S-7EX, S-2EX) To ensure that all sound direct and reflected arrives at the listening position with identical timbre, TADs exclusive CST (Coherent Source Transducer) driver technology has been implemented in the EX series. The Beryllium tweeter is mounted in the centre of the magnesium midrange driver, allowing the sound directivity to be precisely controlled at all frequencies. The resulting aligned sound delivery is extremely smooth and coherent. Unlike with conventional drivers, the problems with phase and off-axis frequency response have been totally eradicated.

1) CD-R/CD-RW DVD-R/DVD-RW playback: Disc may not be played back because of following reasons: recording characteristics of recorder, characteristics of disc, scratches and dust on disc, dust and condensation on pickup lens. CD-R/CD-RW Playback: CD-R/CD-RW discs for Audio, recorded in CD Audio, VideoCD or MP3/WMA audio formatting can be played back. Unfinalised discs cannot be played back. DVD-R/DVD-RW Playback: Unfinalised discs cannot be played back. 2) Compatible with MPEG1 Audio Layer3 format with a sampling rate of 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz. Recording format should be in accordance with ISO9660 CD-ROM file system. Both Romeo and Joliet file systems can be played. On RCS-55, playback of Romeo is not assured. Note that if the file structure is very complex, you may not be able to read/play all files on the disc. 3) WMA content can be encoded by using Windows Media Player version 8 (or less), or Windows Media Player for Windows XP. Compatible with sampling rate of 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz. 4) JPEG file compatibility: This player is compatible with FUJICOLOR CD and KODAK Picture CD formats, as well as CD-R/CD-RW/CD-ROMs containing JPEG files. 5) All Repeat is available for DVD-R and DVD-RW (Video Mode). 6) All Repeat is unavailable for DVD-R, DVD-RW (Video Mode), DivX and WMA/MP3 discs.
