Very Satisfied Very neat and compact, filled it up and listen to music and watch movies direct from this through the Xbox 360 with no freezing.

Verbatim 500GB HDD For Apple Mac Has USB 3.0 and FireWire
Those that are looking for a high-capacity, external storage device meant to work and fit with, visually, Mac systems need look no further for Verbatim has delivered its Store 'n' Go in Europe.

Basically, the well-known maker of storage solutions has put together an external hard disk drive with multiple interface options. The aforementioned Store 'n' Go can be encased in either a black or white enclosure and can connect to a PC via the very fast USB 3.0 (successor to USB 2.0 and connection with speed of 5 Gbps) and/or FireWire 800. What this means is that it is available in two versions, one priced at 89.90 Euro, and equipped with USB 3.0, and one that has both USB 3.0 and FireWire 800 and sells for 99.90 Euro. Regardless, they both have the same storage capacity of 500 GB and measure 131 x 80 x 20 mm, the weight being of 210 grams. Not only that, but Verbatim even threw in a Green Button software, which detects when the product is idle and spins down the platters. This, obviously, leads to a significantly lower power consumption, so that its feature set may have all bases covered in terms of appeal. "This product complements all aspects of a cool lifestyle," stated Verbatim EUMEA business development manager Kai Miroschnik. "It has been designed especially for Mac users and with its stylish look really fits in with the elegance of Mac computers, making it the perfect choice for those who prize both form and functionality." Those that want the drives but wish to use them with other systems instead of Apple Mac ones will be able to reformat them if they so choose. It is also implied that a verbatim Store 'n' Go with a capacity of 1TB will show up in the first quarter of 2011.

Verbatim launches eSATA/USB 2.0 Combo portable HDD Verbatim
Verbatim has finished putting together a portable hard disk drive that integrates the benefits of both the user-friendly and widespread USB 2.0 interface, as well as those of the fast and versatile eSATA connection. Dubbed simply the eSATA/USB 2.0 Combo HDD, the device measures 130 x 80 x 17 mm, uses a rugged aluminum enclosure and only weighs 205 grams, while being able to stock up as much as 500GB. In using the power eSATA interface, the Verbatim Combo drive can not only take full advantage of the large eSATA interface bandwidth, but it does so while running on only the power provided by the port. The actual bandwidth is of 3Gbps, which is quite convenient, especially for high-capacity drives, considering that 3Gbps is the equivalent of six times the speed achievable by the USB 2.0 interface. This high data-transfer capabilities also serve to encourage users to more readily employ the pre-installed Nero BackitUp4 software. The BackitUp4 is a utility that enables consumers to back up all the important data from their laptop or desktop PC. This, of course, can be done by any large-capacity drive, regardless of whether it uses the USB or eSATA interface. Still, when operating on the former, the long time it would take to transfer large volumes of data to and from the drive may actually discourage owners from using the backup feature. The eSATA, however, allows the same operation to be completed much more quickly. The Verbatim Portable Hard Drive is bundled with not only a special, powered eSATA cable, but also a separate Y cable, for interfacing with older eSATA ports that do not carry current. This Y cable will draw out power from a powered USB port in order to supply the drive with the needed electricity. The Verbatim eSATA/USB 2.0 Combo Portable hard disk drive is accompanied by a two-year warranty and is already selling for the price of 109 Euro.
