OVERVIEW
This release of the Lexmark Forms and Bar Code Card adds support for the Lexmark printers released in the first and second quarters of 2009. This document lists the printers supported in this release and describes current known issues and their workarounds.

KNOWN ISSUES

The following issues may be addressed in a future release. E-Mail Cannot Be Sent if a Variable is Tagged as an E-Mail Address In a formset, if a variable is tagged as an e-mail address but the e-mail address remains blank in the data file, the e-mail is not sent and the printer does not print an error page. This issue applies to printers that support e-mail functionality.

Print All Forms Output Does Not Include Placeholder Subform Information If a user uploads a formset that consists of several subforms along with a placeholder subform, then prints all of the uploaded formsets (using Print All Forms on the Forms Card Menu), the output contains information about all of the forms except the placeholder subform.

Merged Output Will Not Print from a USB Thumb Drive If a user exports a formset to a USB thumb drive (using Formset Forms Card Export to in Forms Manager), then attaches the thumb drive to a printer and sends the data file, the merged output will not print. Only the data file will be printed. The user must re-send the data file in order to print the merged output.

Print Port Settings on the Forms Card Menu The Print Port Settings list on the Forms Card Menu always displays all port options (USB, Serial, and Parallel) regardless of whether all port options are available on a printer. A standard USB port and a standard parallel port are available on the E460dn, while only a standard USB port is available on the E460dw.

Firmware Error When Merging DM_AS400 Form with Data Set If a user adds a printer to Forms Manager, uploads the DM_AS400 formset, sets the AS400 filter, and sends the data file, the printer displays the following error: 900.00 Firmware error 850 P4.pj1 WriteBack Received SIGABRT (nip=f67).

Viewing a List of Files Stored on a USB Thumb Drive The Print Directory does not display files stored on a USB thumb drive. Instead, Print All Forms can be used to view a list of formsets stored on a thumb drive. A list of files stored on a thumb drive is also displayed when the thumb drive is inserted into a printer.

Forms Merge PDF Output Displayed Incorrectly in Acrobat Reader Text is displayed incorrectly when Acrobat Reader is used to view archived PDFs or PDF e-mail attachments generated by Forms Merge. The PDF text appears as a series of small boxes, while the text in the Forms Composer preview is displayed correctly. This occurs because the PDF output generated by Forms Merge does not contain the same font (Arial True Type) that Forms Composer uses to generate previews. To work around this issue, view Forms Merge PDF output using Foxit Reader instead of Acrobat Reader. Foxit Reader displays the PDF text correctly. Foxit Reader can be downloaded from: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php.

Formset on a USB Drive Fails to Merge for Print All Forms If a user attempts to print the merged output for a formset stored on a USB drive, the printer prints the correct output the first time. Then, if the user executes the Print All Forms action to print the formset details and sends the data file again, the printer prints an unable to open.lfm file error page. To work around this issue, restart the printer. After the restart, the printer will print the merged output successfully.

Incomplete Merging with Large Formset If a user uploads a large formset from Forms Manager and sends the data file via serial card, the printer may print the merged output for several pages, then it may print only the data for the remainder of the forms. This occurs when the port times out before all the data has been merged. To work around this issue, increase the Local Port Timeout. This gives Forms Manager more time to process the data. Operator Panel Display Error After Flushing Secure Header Code If a user flushes the Forms Merge secure header code on a blank daughter card, the printers operator panel should display a 41 Unsupported firmware card message after rebooting. Instead, the operator panel displays a black screen with colored stripes after the printer reboots.

Forms Merge Unable to E-Mail Merged Output Forms Merge may be unable to e-mail merged output on some servers. This may be due to a problem with the way some servers are set up. Carbon Copy and Blind Carbon Copy Options Not Available The cc (carbon copy) and bcc (blind carbon copy) options are not available for Forms Card merged e-mail output.

900.00 Firmware Error When running automation for some formsets, users may receive the following error: 900.00 Firmware Error 945.P4 PjlWrite Back Received SIGABRT(nip=f57).
