Reduce the risk of anyone extracting sensitive documents from the hard drive, even after the system reaches end of life. The standard DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS) automatically overwrites the area of the hard drive used for image processing after the completion of each job, making it virtually impossible to recover documents. At the end of the systems useful life, the entire hard drive can be overwritten, which destroys the data before it leaves your location. Safeguard documents stored on the hard drive even if the drive is removed from the system. The textual information presented by the drivers is available to the screen reader. There are, however, a number of usability issues for screen reader users associated with the way text is presented. For example, in the PS Universal and PCL 6 drivers, the text presented in the Settings Summary dialog is presented using a tree view control, which makes the text difficult for screen reader users to obtain and understand. In the PCL6 Universal, PS Universal, and PCL6 drivers, on the General tab of the Properties dialog, most of the information in the Features group box is not read by the screen reader. However, this appears to be a Windows issue that is not specific to the Ricoh drivers.

Adjusting the paper tray guides requires simultaneous actions that may be difficult for some users. However, these controls are used for maintenance activities, and are therefore exempt from Section 508. Users have the option to interact with the software through use of the keyboard, mouse, or a combination.
