Xerox offers a wide variety of print drivers for the newest operating system from Apple Mac OS X 10.6. The following table lists various Xerox products and information regarding Mac OS X 10.6 driver compatibility and availability. The table refers to a compatibility level for each product; a description of the compatibility levels is provided at the end of this document. This table will be updated periodically as Xerox releases new Mac OS X 10.6 print drivers.

Upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6
When upgrading from Mac OS X 10.5 to Mac OS X 10.6, portions of the print drivers are removed during the upgrade process. As a result, some features are no longer accessible and unpredictable behavior may occur. To correct this situation, reinstall the print driver package.

Printing in Mac OS X 10.6
The extension of 64-bit support throughout the operating system is a main feature of Mac OS X 10.6. For products listed above with a compatibility level of 3, there are some important conditions to be aware of. When printing from 32-bit applications, the existing print drivers for Mac OS X 10.5 will function as expected when printing in Mac OS X 10.6. When printing from 64-bit applications, some of the features in the print driver may appear with a line drawn across the feature name. When this occurs, those features cannot be selected for use in the print job. Applications that are included with the operating system, such as the Finder, the Dock, Safari, TextEdit, Preview, iChat, Address Book, Dashboard, Mail, Calculator, Help Viewer, Installer, Terminal, Stickies, Font Book, as well as Photo Booth, are current examples of 64-bit applications. Microsoft Office:mac2008 and Adobe Creative Suite, CS4, are examples of 32-bit applications. To continue printing with Mac OS X 10.5 drivers from 64-bit applications, you can either choose to use an alternate application that runs in 32-bit mode or you can force the 64-bit application to run in 32-bit mode. To do this, select the application, select Get Info from the file menu, click the Open in 32-bit mode checkbox, and then select Done. This is a permanent change until you uncheck the setting.
Printing Enablement in Mac OS X 10.6 for Phaser 6100, 6110, 6110 MFP /S /X
The Phaser 6100, Phaser 6110, and Phaser 6110 MFP /S /X products can be enabled for printing in Mac OS X 10.6 by completing the following steps. 1) Change the Xerox Folder Permissions: Navigate to Applications > Utilities and open a Terminal window. Type the following command: sudo chown -R root:admin /Library/Printers/Xerox You will be prompted to enter your password. 2) Install Rosetta from the Snow Leopard DVD: Insert the Snow Leopard Install DVD Select Optional Package

Select Rosetta only from the list of optional packages Click install and follow instructions to complete installation; there is no need to reboot 3) Reset Printing System: Navigate to: System Preferences> Print & Fax> Xerox Phaser [6100, 6110, 6110MFP] Right click on the printer Select Reset Printing System 4) Install Printer (without removing the driver): Navigate to: System Preferences> Print & Fax> Xerox Phaser [6100, 6110, 6110MFP] Select +: add the available Xerox printer NOTE: Xerox does not provide support for Rosetta or the Mac printing system reset functions. Please contact Apple Support for further questions regarding Rosetta or Printing system resets.
Scan Driver Compatibility with Mac OS X 10.6
The current Mac OS X 10.5 scan drivers for your product are compatible for use with Mac OS X 10.6.
Updated Print Drivers for Mac OS X 10.6
Over time, Xerox will be issuing updated drivers that will be fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6. These drivers will function in full-feature mode, even when printing from 64-bit applications. Check back periodically as future revisions of this document will contain updated release schedules.

Print Administration in Windows 7
The folder known as Printers and Faxes in older versions of the Windows operating system is now part of the Devices and Printers console in Windows 7. In addition, some of the administrative functions that could be found in the Printers and Faxes folder can now be found in the Print Management Console. Be sure to review the latest documentation from Microsoft to learn about print administration changes in Windows 7.
Scan Driver Compatibility with Windows 7
The current Windows Vista scan drivers for your product are compatible for use with Windows 7. Please note that Windows 7 introduces a new method for accessing the Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard. The Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard is used in cases when the scan driver installer or automatic detection of the device and installation of the drivers is not an option. To open the Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard, click the Start button, then click the Control Panel and search for scanners and cameras. Click on the View scanners and cameras link from the list of search results.
