Fans of the Husqvarna supermoto can now get an easy to install replacement for the tail end of the exhaust system. The Akrapovic Slip-On system satisfies basic performance tuning requirements, and offers an excellent combination of production quality and affordability. The system includes a noise damper for the European and other non-American markets, and an approved spark arrester for the US market. PERFORMANCE Measurements of the Akrapovic SLIP-ON system on the HUSQVARNA SMR 450 (with muffler insert): Power & Torque: the Husqvarna engine comes alive with this system, as can be clearly seen from the power curve. Power and torque are both significantly increased from low revs to the middle of the range. At the top of the range the Akrapovic curve follows the stock curve. Max. increased power of 3.4 HP is measured at 4600 rpm. CONFIGURATION The Akrapovic SLIP-ON system for the Husqvarna features a combination of titanium and stainless steel. The muffler outer sleeve and outlet cap are made of titanium, while the metal parts of the muffler interior are made of stainless steel. The inlet cap is also made of stainless steel, as well as the very short cylindrical link pipe, which is welded to the inlet cap. The system is attached to the stock header assembly using a sleeve joint, held together with silicon-shielded tensioning springs. The muffler is attached to the frame using carbon-fiber clamps. The system includes a noise damper for the European and other non-American markets, and an approved spark arrester for the US market, which is marked on the muffler with a laser engraving.

PERFORMANCE Measurements of the Akrapovic RACING system on the HUSQVARNA SMR 450 (with muffler insert): Power & Torque: the system provides an increase throughout the entire rpm range. The boost is especially noticeable around 4000 rpm, where the dropouts in the stock power and torque curves are filled. Max. increased power of 4.2 HP is measured at 4400 rpm. CONFIGURATION The system is configured 2-1 using a combination of stainless steel and titanium. The dual conical stainless steel (Racing) or titanium (Evolution) header tubes are joined into one and led into a conical stainless steel (Racing) or titanium (Evolution) link pipe. The link pipe then leads into the titanium muffler. The connections are sleeve joints held together with silicon-shielded tensioning springs. The muffler outer sleeve is titanium, as are the inner perforation and the inlet and outlet cap. The muffler is attached to the frame using two carbon-fiber clamps. The system includes a noise damper for the European and other non-American markets, and an approved spark arrester for the US market, which is marked on the muffler with a laser engraving.
