2011 Hyundai Elantra
Think About Sophistication GIVE YOUR EXPECTATIONS A BIG, FAT RAISE. ABSORB TO LET READER THE LOOKS OF THE ELANTRA
Carmakers typically design new models by taking aim at the head of the class. At Hyundai, we set our sights higher we aim for a class above the rest. And when you consider everything the new, completely redesigned 2011 Elantra has to offer, oneis an exerciseto mind: Bullseye. The design of an automotive interior word comes in making the complex simple. In the all-new Sonata, information critical to the driver is organized within a gauge cluster that includes two large, round dials. And In so many ways, the new Elantra offers more than you might expect. At a easy for both theyou and front passenger to controls for the audio and climate control systems that are price lower than driver might imagine. Sleek intuitively. Each knob and every switch is exactly where yourperformance operate character lines and assertive design cues hint at an elevated fingertips expect them to be. that delivers best-in-class standard fuel economy at 40 mpg on the highway.1 Inside, Elantra greets you with best-in-class front-seat legroom and an interior so spacious, its classified as a mid-sized car by the U.S. EPA a class above Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. Elantra Limiteds modern interior is replete with standard features usually reserved for luxury sedans: Leather seating surfaces, a Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition, heated front and rear seats a first within the compact segment and an available 7-inch touchscreen navigation system with rearview backup camera. Add six airbags, Daytime Running Lights and Vehicle Stability Management technologies to a long list of standard safety features, and its easy to see why Automobile.com raves, Its a safe bet the new Elantrawill be a quantum leap over its predecessor, especially when it comes to styling.2
EPA estimates for comparison. Your actual mileage will vary with options, driving conditions, driving habits and vehicles condition. PZEV model not available in all states. 2 Automobile.com, July 2, 2010.

A SHAPE INSPIRED BY NATURE. AND REFINED BY SCIENCE.
A flowing sculpture seemingly carved by the wind conveys a feeling of movement, even when standing still. Aerodynamic lines gracefully arc over the rear wheels and flow into striking wraparound taillights. In every detail, Elantra stands out from the conservative designs of traditional compact cars, speaking a unique visual language inspired by the forces of wind and water. And while its true that Hyundais design studio in Irvine, California borrowed from nature, we also paid it back by engineering a low 0.28 coefficient of drag that contributes to category-leading fuel economy making Elantra as easy on the environment as it is on your pocket book.

THE ART OF RELAXED DRIVING.
Slip behind the steering wheel, and the first thing youre likely to notice is how naturally the leather front seats conform to the contours of your body. As you stash your beverage and sunglasses in their dedicated storage compartments, watch as your eyes glide along Elantras fluid interior lines and come to rest on a pair of large, highly legible gauges in the middle of the instrument panel. A modern, ergonomically refined center console allows your fingertips to quickly locate any button or knob they desire, while steering-wheelmounted audio, cruise and phone controls let you keep your hands on the task of driving as you check your voicemail, choose your tunes, select your speedand simply go. Wherever the road leads you.
THE ART OF LIVING LARGE.
For 2011, Elantra was redesigned with a longer wheelbase and overall length. The payoff? More space (including best-in-class front-seat legroom), more storage, and more room to drive. With 110.4 cubic feet of interior volume, Elantra does more than top the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic models it is cross-shopped against its also roomier than the 2011 Nissan Maxima, Acura TSX and Volkswagen CC. Perhaps thats why Hyundais designers were able to pack so many standard features inside?
Proximity key entry with electronic PUSH-button start
No need to fetch keys from your pocket or purse Elantra Limiteds available proximity key senses your presence, allowing you to unlock doors and start the engine with the push of a button.
Heated rear seats
In addition to heated front seats, the Elantra Limited comes standard with heated rear seats as well a first within the compact car segment.
power sunroof
Add a wide-open swatch of sky to your driving experience with a power tilt-and-slide, one-touch glass sunroof (standard on Elantra Limited).
Leather interior
A distinctive perforated wave pattern on Elantra Limiteds leather seating surfaces gives the interiors luxurious feel an added degree of aesthetic energy and appeal.
HIGH-TECH COCKPIT. TO GO.
Modern-day conveniences are a driving force behind the Elantras refined interior design. For drivers who enjoy traveling by the numbers, a trip computer on the dash conveys average fuel consumption, average vehicle speed, distance to empty and elapsed time. A Bluetooth hands-free phone system keeps you plugged in on the road, while an optional navigation system lets you dial in your destination using a high-resolution 7 touchscreen or voice commands.1 Hyundai goes the extra mile with our navigation system by also upgrading Elantras standard 172-watt AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3 audio system to 360 watts of premium musical magic with an external amplifier.
iPOD /USB auxiliary input jacks
Recharge your iPod or MP3 player while navigating your playlists using the available steering-wheel audio controls or the head unit, which displays the songs artist and title.4
Navigation system
Premium 360W Audio System
An advanced navigation system featuring a 7 LCD touchscreen (the largest in its class) and a rearview backup camera is available on both GLS and Limited models. It also offers XM NavTraffic for live traffic updates, XM NavWeather and XM Sports and Stocks feeds.2
Elantras available navigation system upgrades the cars standard 6-speaker audio system with 360 watts of power using an external amp that delivers crisp digital sound.

AN ENGINE SO CLEAN AND EFFICIENT, WE CONSIDERED PAINTING IT GREEN.
Well, not really. But we never considered sacrificing performance for fuel economy when redesigning Elantras powerplant, either. The new DOHC, 1.8L engine packs more power into a lighter, tighter 4-cylinder package that features the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. Weve re-cast the cast iron engine block with aluminum to reduce engine weight and improve fuel economy. Weve also accelerated the fun factor by coupling a two-step Variable Intake System and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing for optimal engine response (with minimal emissions) at both low and high rpm. These advances all come together in a certified Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) or Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) in some states.1
Valve Timing: Variable Gratification: Continuous
Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing optimizes intake and exhaust valve timing for maximum performance at every speed. Exhaust and intake are controlled simultaneously, reducing valve overlap for stable combustion. The continual optimization of camshaft phasing improves engine performance and fuel economy while reducing emissions.
A Digital Revolution
Electronic Throttle Control improves drivability and fuel efficiency by replacing a conventional cable and linkage setup with much faster electronic hardware. By switching to a computer-controlled system, engine torque is optimized through greater air intake precision.
A Driving Revelation
Elantras new, maintenance-free silent timing chain enhances engine durability while reducing noise. The camshaft is driven by a silent chain with an auto-tensioner, resulting in a timing system that is fully optimized for both strength and wear.
PZEV available in some states. Horsepower and torque on PZEV and ULEV models may vary.
SIX APPEAL. EITHER YOUVE GOT IT, OR YOU DONT.
Of course, were talking about Elantras silky smooth 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions. Hyundai engineers used a proprietary design to create a lighter, more compact automatic transmission. Together with an overdrive lock-up torque converter at freeway speeds, it yields a 4% improvement in fuel economy all by itself. Power is channeled through Elantras front-wheel drive system the layout of choice for a versatile, all-climate driving machine. Speaking of choice, Hyundais 6-speed automatic transmission features SHIFTRONIC manual control, which allows you to manually take charge over sequential gear shifting when driving on inclines, winding roads or freeway passing lanes. Its a driving experience that is both engaging and effortless. If only everything in life worked that way.

ENOUGH STANDARD SAFETY FEATURES TO CHANGE THE STANDARD.
Six airbags. Electronic Stability Control. ABS with Brake Assist. A Tire Pressure Monitoring System.1 When you consider everything that comes standard on the new Elantra, its clear that Hyundai places enormous value on safety. Elantra is among the few in its class to offer 4-wheel disc brakes standard on every model. You can relax, knowing that an arsenal of advanced electronics like our Traction Control System and Vehicle Stability Management are optimizing the cars handling in all driving conditions. Best of all, traveling with this technical entourage wont cost you a fortune.
Six AIRBAG SAFETY SYSTEM
Elantras dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags provide cocoon-like safety at every seating position.2 According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, this combination of airbags can reduce fatalities by up to 45%.3
1 TPMS is not a substitute for proper maintenance. See Owners Manual for details. Spare tires are not equipped with TPMS. 2 The supplemental restraint system (SRS) is designed to work with the three-point seatbelt system. The SRS deploys in certain frontal and/or side-impact conditions where significant injury is likely. The SRS is not a substitute for seatbelts, which should be worn at all times. Children under age of 13 should be restrained securely in the rear seat. NEVER place a rear-facing child seat in the front seat of a vehicle that has a passenger-side airbag. 3For details, visit www.iihs.org.
Advanced Brake Technologies
Brake Assist senses emergency braking situations and immediately applies maximum braking pressure to minimize the vehicles stopping distance. Electronic Brake-force Distribution balances braking pressure at each wheel to further improve braking performance.
High-Strength Steel
The 2011 Elantra features a unibody shell engineered with more high-strength steel than its predecessor to achieve 37% greater body stiffness. At speed, this translates into a smoother ride with less vibration and better handling.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
ESC continuously monitors factors such as wheel speed, steering angle and lateral g-forces. When it senses a skid is imminent, brake and throttle inputs are adjusted to help keep your Elantra on its intended path.4
Traction Control System
For greater control in adverse conditions, Elantra uses a sophisticated Traction Control System that senses wheel spin during acceleration. Engine power is reduced and/or braking pressure applied to the wheel that is slipping, effectively re-routing power to the wheel with greater traction.5
4 Electronic Stability Control (ESC) cannot control your vehicles stability under all driving situations. ESC is not a substitute for safe driving practices. No system, no matter how advanced, can overcome physics or correct poor driving. The driver is always responsible for controlling the vehicle and must use caution to avoid loss of control in all driving conditions. Speed, road conditions and driver steering input will affect whether ESC can help prevent loss of control. See Owners Manual for details. 5 The Traction Control System (TCS) is meant to enhance conscientious driving habits and is not a substitute for safe driving practices.
MORE GREEN FOR THE PLANET. MORE GREEN FOR YOU.
Onboard Elantra, youll find many features designed with the future in mind. Take Elantras SoyFoam seats, for example. Hydroxyl-functionalized soybean oil is substituted for petroleumbased polyol to create eco-friendly seat cushions that satisfy all automotive performance and safety requirements. Elantras designers also substituted the hard, cheap plastics other manufacturers use on their A and B pillars with a composite of plastic mixed with fibrous tissue and volcanic rock. In addition to being scratch resistant and easy to clean, it also possesses a cloth-like appearance that helps maintain the cars natural aesthetics throughout the interior. The intelligent use of lightweight materials allows Elantra to tip the scales even further in the planets favor. Consider our 1.8-liter engine: Forged from aluminum, its 74 pounds lighter than the engine it replaces. This, along with many other weight-reduction measures, contributes to an 18% improvement in fuel economy over the previous model year. Its also cleaner, earning the same PZEV rating as the Toyota Prius hybrid. Its the kind of green thinking that also puts more greenbacks in your pocket. Doing the right thing should always be this rewarding.

Digital Adrenaline For Your
Hyundai Elantra 2.0 MY04
Powerchip technology enhances your Hyundai to its ultimate level, delivering faster, smoother acceleration in all driving conditions. Whether you enjoy a leisurely weekend cruise or a hard racetrack drive there is no easier and more effective way to release the potential from your Elantra 2.0 MY04. The following information is an overview of the performance the Powerchip will deliver. If you have any questions, your Power Consultant will assist you as best as possible. We look forward to giving you the best performance possible from your Hyundai.
Make Model Engine Year Powerchip Code
Hyundai Elantra 2.0 MY04 G4GC From Jan 04 HYU0049
In standard form the Hyundai Elantra 2.0 MY04 produces 138 hp at the flywheel, and Powerchip improves the engine power to 153 hp.
Power (hp) Standard
Bronze/ Silver
Gold 91
Gold 93
The extra performance achieved by the Powerchip allows your vehicle to respond much better than stock Elantra 2.0 MY04s. You will notice an effortless push back into the drivers seat, to give you a much more enjoyable and at times safer driving experience. The Powerchip will tap into your Hyundais hidden reserves, to give you an immediately noticeable improvement from your vehicle we guarantee it!
Torque
Torque is a measurement of your engines pulling power, and its torque that pulls you up hills, allowing your engine a more linear and aggressive acceleration curve. With the Powerchip, you notice the increase in torque right throughout the rev range, which gives you far greater flexibility at low engine revolutions. Towing will become less demanding, and you will no longer feel the need to take the engine to the redline in each gear to get the performance you demand. Its always there for you, when you really need it most!
Torque (lb.ft) Standard
Acceleration
Increased Power and Torque results in faster acceleration. And it is not just standing start acceleration that is improved, your in-gear acceleration is improved and faster. If overtaking is important to you, you will feel safe knowing that you spend less time on the wrong side of the road, improving the safety of your car, for you and your family or passengers. Perhaps you feel that you need that extra bit of power when you are lined up at the "traffic light grand prix" against another car with similar (or more) power? If you want to have the unfair advantage that will give you more GO away from the lights, you need a Powerchip performance software upgrade for your Elantra 2.0 MY04.
Fitting Details
Your car utilizes a Surface Mount Chip (SMT) a very sophisticated and powerful memory device which is fitted to many late model (post 1996) vehicles. Because of its complexity, the SMT style chip must be 'flash' programmed in the same way as the dealership (don't worry we do this for you when we recieve your ECU), similarly to when servicing the vehicle. The ECU itself is very easy to remove, and should be sent overnight to be modified at Powerchip and then return overnight to you (we use FedEx Priority Overnight Service). Detailed instructions (including photos) are also provided to ensure the ECU can be removed easily from the vehicle. Once complete, and reinstalled into the vehicle, you are back on the road to enjoy your enhanced performance as soon as possible.
On Road Development
Where Powerchip really shines out over its competitors is the emphasis and time spent refining the program for drivability and enjoyment. Much more a real world gain than full throttle horse power runs on a dyno, part throttle refinement is a gain everyone uses every time they drive the vehicle. Flat spots and poor off the line performance are smoothed out in this process, and transient throttle conditions are made razor sharp for the ultimate in response. Real time changes to tables like throttle response and power enrichment are done on road to fine tune the driving experience of the vehicle, with acceleration timing equipment used to ensure consistent and measurable gains in part throttle drivability.
Driveability
Beyond the impressive torque and power gains on full throttle, many hours were spent refining the part throttle timing maps for maximum throttle response and driveability. Both the full throttle and part throttle maps are changed for improved driveability in day-to-day driving. In other words, you dont need to be on the racetrack to notice the Powerchip performance improvement.
Manufacturers Tolerances
Hyundai unfortunately leaves large tolerances in the performance characteristics of its entire fleet to allow for drivers that are negligent on maintenance, and who are non-enthusiasts. The Elantra 2.0 MY04 is de-tuned to be able to run on the poorest grade of fuel that the car is likely to encounter anywhere in the world, and also to allow for the small percentage of owners who put their cars reliability to the test due to their lack of mechanical understanding. In most cases, our clients are enthusiasts who place more emphasis on the performance characteristics of their vehicle, and therefore the Powerchip does not need to be programmed as conservatively as the stock software.
Modified Spark Advance
In the old days the ignition distributor controlled the engine spark timing. Changes to the position in the distributor will result in changed ignition settings, and is a good method of tune-up for older vehicles. Modern engine ignition is controlled by a series of tables or maps. These maps give the engine any instructions required to operate, under ALL load and rev per minute access points. Similar to the old systems, advancing the point of ignition within a cylinder results in increased horsepower and toque. It is important not to advance the timing beyond the capabilities of the fuel used, or else detonation can occur. Peak horsepower is achieved when ignition timing is set as close to the point of detonation as possible, without exceeding it. This is the primary purpose for asking the octane rating each client uses most frequently, so that the software is set to the correct level of ignition advance for the fuel used. The end result of ignition advance changes is increased horsepower and torque, resulting in better acceleration and various other driving benefits.
49 State Emissions Legal
The Powerchip complies with U.S. EPA Memorandum 1A, or it has not been found nor is believed to be unlawful for use under the provisions of the Clean Air Act. Currently, Powerchip is not legal in California for vehicles that may be used on a highway. Powerchip is currently undergoing testing for certification under the Californian Air Resources Board (CARB) exemption process.
Our Satisfaction Guarantee
Every Powerchip sold in North America comes with an unconditional 14-day money back guarantee. This ensures that the Powerchip will live up to your expectations, not ours! If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the Powerchip, you may return the Powerchip to your place of purchase for a full refund of the purchase price (not including shipping and handling, installation and removal etc.). Our satisfaction guarantee offers you total peace of mind, and makes the purchase of the Powerchip risk free. By purchasing a Powerchip you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
Octane ratings
The Powerchip is designed to get the best from your engine, and to do this you must use a high performance fuel (91 Octane minimum). It is not possible to improve the performance on late model fuel injected vehicles using poor quality fuels, such as 87 or 89 octane. When ordering your Powerchip upgrade, your Power Consultant will ask you for the octane rating you would like your program to run. Powerchip Gold 91 is designed to run on fuel with an octane rating of either 91 or 92. Powerchip Gold 93 is designed to run on fuel with an octane rating of 93 or higher. We highly recommend that you use the highest-octane fuel available to you, such as 92, 93 or 94 octane if a higher than 91-octane fuel is available.
Warranty
All Gold 93 Powerchips come with a three year, unlimited mile warranty, which means that if anything occurs with the Powerchip in that time, we will replace it without charge to you. An optional extended Powerchip warranty is also available at an additional $90 at the time of ordering. This extends the warranty period on any Power chip to six years. The terms and conditions of the Powerchip warranties can be viewed in detail on our web site at
http://www.powerchipgroup.com/products/warranty.asp
To briefly summarize the information: if your car is covered by a new or dealer warranty, the dealer may not void a warranty simply because you have fitted an aftermarket product. SEMA, the automotive aftermarket industry body in North America has made the following statements regarding aftermarket products such as performance chips. "The vehicle manufacturer is not allowed to void the vehicle warranty just because aftermarket equipment is installed on the vehicle." ".In cases where such a failed aftermarket part is responsible for a warranty claim, the (vehicle) manufacturer must arrange a settlement with the part manufacturer, but the new vehicle warrant is not void under the law." "If the failure to honor a claim involves the new-vehicle warranty, and it appears that the (vehicle) manufacturer is improperly denying a claim, the incident should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)." The fitment of the Powerchip will not have a detrimental effect on your vehicle performance or engine longevity, and therefore does not interfere with the manufacturers warranty in any way.
Value for a Lifetime
The investment you make in the Powerchip will last for as long as you keep your car, and for most of our customers, that is normally for 3 or 4 years. So when you consider the benefits of the chip over a number of years, it is not a lot to pay for extra performance you will probably use nearly every day. As a percentage of the total cost of your car, the Powerchip works out to be very cost effective.
