FORD EXPLORER SPORT TRAC INSTRUCTIONS
Ford Sport Tracs, because of their unique nature, require additional assembly procedures to install the side rails. A set of support brackets and hardware have been included with your TruXedo kit in place of the clamp assemblies used on standard pickup boxes. These have been especially designed to fit your Sport Trac composite box.

Threaded inserts are built in to your Sport Trac composite box

STEP 1:

Align rear hole in support bracket with threaded insert in composite box near tailgate. Insert screw through washer and hole in bracket. Finger tighten into composite box.

STEP 3:

Fasten side rails to support brackets through pre-drilled holes in side rails with screws , washers and nuts.

STEP 2:

Align front hole on support bracket with threaded insert at front of composite box. Inthrough washer and hole in sert screw bracket. Finger tighten into composite box.

STEP 4: Tighten all screws and nuts securely.

CAUTION
Tighten screws and nuts on side rails before driving vehicle.

INSTALLATION STEPS

1) Remove plastic air dam and tow hooks if present. 2) Remove existing bumper bolts and bumper brackets. (Return bumper brackets to customer) 3) Install angle brackets using existing bumper bolts as shown. 4) Raise hitch into position and secure with 1/2" x 2 1/4" carriage bolts, spacer blocks, and flange nuts as shown. 5) If tow hooks are present, sandwich hitch between frame rail and tow hooks and secure with 1/2" x 2 1/4" carriage bolts, spacer blocks, and flange nuts as shown. 6) Torque all M10 fasteners to 53 lb-ft and all 1/2" fasteners to 75 lb-ft. 7) Reinstall air dam removed in step 1.
PERIODICALLY CHECK THIS RECEIVER HITCH TO ENSURE THAT ALL FASTENERS ARE TIGHT AND THAT ALL STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS ARE SOUND.
