Samsung Trance Might Come to Verizon in Q2

Some more leaked info on the yet unannounced Samsung SCH-u490 Trance mobile phone has surfaced recently to the web, showing up some pages from the user manual of said mobile phone, which is expected to head towards Verizon. What the Samsung SCH-u490 Trance is expected to come around with is a touch-sensitive control panel, as well as a slide-out numeric keypad, which should allow for convenient texting. At the same time, the new handset comes in a black color scheme. The mobile phone, which seems to feature the same touch control pad as the LG Venus did, is also expected to come around sporting a 3.5mm headset jack, a nice feature for the device, as well as a microSDHC memory card slot offering users additional storage space capacity. On the back, the Samsung SCH-u490 Trance features a large speaker at the top, yet it is uncertain if it will prove to be a high-performance one, as no Bang & Olufsen branding can be spotted on it, as originally expected. The new device is reported to feature a Mobile Web 2.0 browser, although it will not include EVDO connectivity for data transfers. The mobile phone is also expected to include 1GB of internal memory dedicated to music, as well as 128MB more for files and downloads. We should also be able to see a 1.3-megapixel CMOS photo snapper. For the time being, all that surrounds the Samsung SCH-u490 Trance are rumors, so it is not certain that the device will actually include these features when released to the market. Yet, according to the news, we should be able to learn what it is able to offer as soon as it is available, which should happen in the second quarter of the year. And perhaps we'll also be able to have a look at the handset at CTIA.

Verizon to Deliver Updates for Samsung Intensity and Trance
Fixes bugs, brings some enhancements
Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly getting ready to release a series of software updates for two of the handsets it currently has available for its users, namely the Samsung Intensity (SCH U-490) and Samsung Trance (SCH U-450). Moreover, the said updates are believed to come over-the-air to users, who should wait for them to arrive starting today. A recent article on MobileCrunch reveals that the news on these updates come from a source that also delivered the release notes for the new software solutions. Among them, one will easily spot fixes for rather annoying bugs, as well as a series of improvements, though nothing should be amazing with the almost-here software updates. When it comes to the Samsung SCH u-450, the release notes of the said update show that the audio performance of the phone has been improved, that the device won't go down when in emergency mode, the spelling errors in its user interface have been fixed, that there is an updated Windows Live icon, and that a blinking icon appears when urgent voicemails arrive. The changelog for the update also includes: Scrolling in the web browser no longer generates beeps if the device is in silent or vibrate mobe Mobile IM navigation tweaked so that d-pad input now works as expected in landscape mode Alarm clock notification no longer suspends MMS uploads Applications opened via smart links will now close properly when asked to from the UI Keypad backlight now lights up when coming out of power save mode, which helps the user be able to unlock the device A bug seen in landscape mode when replying to a call with a text where the letter E was not working has been fixed As for the second handset, the Samsung SCH u-490, the changes include a proper support for Reply with Copy when it comes to MMS, support for SVG images, that there are a series of UI software enhancements aimed at the way in which the phone handles interruptions when running applications, and that there are also some bug fixes, including one related with the manner in which SMSs are handled when out of service area fixed and one with improper handling of "-"; character in SMS has been fixed.
