24 bit/192kHz resolution, compared to CDs limit of 2 channels with only 16 bit/44.1kHz resolution. Unlike all other digital formats, DVD-A can only be output as an analogue signal, due to Digital Rights Management agreements required by the format. Thus playback is via the 5.1 analogue outputs only. Fortunately, NAD has a world renowned reputation for engineering some of the finest sounding Digital-to-Analogue stages in the Audio Industry. Unlike most DVD-A players, the T 533 offers comprehensive bass management facilities for both DVDA and Dolby Digital programs. Speaker size, distance, and level are all adjustable, and since this is accomplished in the digital domain, before decoding, this architecture offers the lowest distortion and best sonic performance possible from the DVD-A format. Features The T 533 is a very full-featured DVD player that offers a wide range of facilities such as Multi-Angle*, Multi-Sound*, Multi-Subtitle*, Frame, 100x Zoom, and Marker Search, Smooth Scan, Slow Motion, and Repeat. All of these facilities can be easily accessed with the supplied remote control. With three video connection options and four audio connection options, complete compatibility with any Home Theatre set-up is assured. Whether you simply want to add DVD to your current TV, or desire a complete digital surround sound experience, the T 533 is fully up to the task. The T 533 supports the DTS Surround Sound formats (external decoder required) as well as the always present Dolby Surround formats with decoded Dolby Digital (5.1) output available. Thus even older analogue ProLogic systems can be updated using the T 533 (5.1 Input required). Most popular disc formats are supported by the T 533, including JPEG, Kodak Picture CD, as well as MP-3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio). DVD-R recordable DVD format is fully supported. Other DVD recording formats (DVD+R and DVD-RAM) may, or may not play properly, depending on the specific recorder and blank disc used. Performance Audio performance is fully up to NADs high standards, and the T 533 makes an excellent music player for CD, DVD-A as well as providing state-of-the-art video performance. With full support for the new CD-R and
*: These features need to be supported by DVD software.
The DVD format is the most successful new home entertainment format in history. With digital picture and sound, the performance of DVD is far superior to video tape or TV broadcast. Equally endearing is the sheer convenience of the format, with instant access to different scenes and no rewind requirement as with tape. Add in the bonus of director cuts and interviews with actors and performers, and it is easy to see why DVD is so popular! DVD-Audio uses the high storage capacity of DVD to provide ultra-high resolution audio performance, and is fully supported by the T 533. DVD-A is a flexible format that can support up to 5 channels of audio, with up to
CD-RW formats the T 533 is right up to date. Even MP-3 and WMA files can be played back on this versatile player, with one CD-R capable of up to 10 hours of continuous music playback! Whichever audio format is chosen, the signal will be processed and decoded with typical NAD precision. The analogue output stages are fed from separate regulated power supplies, and utilize audiophile quality parts to retain all the dynamics and detail contained in the original recoding. Equal attention has been paid to the video performance capabilities: Keeping signal paths short and direct to minimise any interference, the 4x10 bit 54MHz Video DACs are capable of reproducing the finest of picture details, where black is truly black and with vivid colours extremely faithful to the original.
The Component Video outputs (Y, Cr, Cb) sports Progressive Scan to get the most out of the latest high-end digital video monitors and projectors with significantly increased resolution when compared to standard, interlaced video. For video displays without Component Video input, the SCART (which supports RGB) and S-Video connectors offer superior video performance. Value The NAD T 533 brings NAD quality and performance to an affordable price range. While the T 533 is a natural partner to one of NADs high performance Theatre Series Receivers, its superb performance and exceptional value make it an outstanding choice in its own right.
