TIPS & TRICKS

Tip #1: Forgotten Lock Code If you forget your lock code, try using the last four digits of the wireless phone number. That will often work. If not, call 1-888-211-4727 and a Sprint Customer Service Representative will assist you. Tip #2: Sharing GPS Directions Its simple to share driving directions. Touch Main > Navigation > Drive to > Recent Places. Select a previous destination and pick any recipient with a mobile phone number. Touch Share and send it to an email or a mobile phone. Tip #3: Event Alarm Get to meetings or make a call on time by using the Event Alarm feature. Touch Main > Calendar. To schedule an event, touch the + in the upper left hand corner of the screen. After entering the title and time, touch the Alert Field to select an alarm to ring at the scheduled time or 10 minutes, 30 minutes or one hour before the event. Touch Save when youre finished setting the alarm. Tip #4: Tip Calculator The tip calculator is at your fingertips when its time to pay for your meal. Touch Main > Calculator. Touch the Down Arrow in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Choose Tip Calculator. Enter the amount using the keypad to see your tip and the total to pay. To split the bill, enter the number of diners in the Each Pay window. The calculator will compute the tip and give the total amount due from each individual for their share of the meal. Tip #5: ICE In Case of Emergency Emergency personnel can identify relatives in case of emergency when one or more contacts are listed with the code ICE1_, ICE2_, ICE3_, etc. Or amend a contact to identify the relationship, such as ICE-Mom. To add contacts, press the Phone icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen and touch Contacts at the bottom of the screen. Touch + to add a contact. Tip #6: Recording Voice Dial Tags Always record your voice dial tags directly into the phone in a quiet room. Avoid using headsets or other hands-free accessories. Tip #7: Find Movies Near You To find out whats playing in your area, touch Web > Movies. See an updated list of whats showing by title or find out whats playing near you. Customize it by creating a list of your favorite theaters. Tip #8: Composing an IM Touch Main > Messaging and touch the Compose icon in the upper left hand corner of the touchscreen. You will be asked to select a phone number or email address first. As soon as you touch Done, the keyboard will appear and you can compose your message. The keyboard also appears when you touch Reply or select a recent contact. Tip #9: Making Notes With the Instinct s30, you have a digital notepad with you all the time. Touch Main > Notes. Touch + and the keyboard will appear so you can write your note. The first words of the note will serve as the headline on the list of notes. Tip #10: Fun Favs Group the features you use most under Favs. To add an item to Favs, touch the Favs icon. Touch + to add your selections. Choose a category from the list. For example, to have your camera ready to go, touch Applications > Fun > Camera. You can also choose playlists, TV shows, radio stations, and more. Tip #11: Missing Text If you see a word cut off at the bottom of the screen, that means theres more information to view. To see the rest of the text or list, put your thumb, fingertip or stylus on the screen and gently sweep upward. You can navigate up and down lists with the same technique.
